Controlling
Seismic Hazard and Sustainable Development of Deep Mines -- Proc. of 7th
Intl. symp. on rockburst and Seismicity in Mines
ed Chun'An Tang
7th International Symposium on Rockburst and Seismicity in Mines (RaSiM7)
was held in Dalian, China, 21-23 August 2009. Past symposia have been held
in South Africa in 1982; Minneapolis, USA in 1988; Kingston, Canada in 1993;
Krakow, Poland in 1997; South Africa again in 2001; Perth, Australia in
2005. The event has long been an opportunity for researchers and industry
professionals to meet and present the latest technical findings, and share
ideas and experiences on one of the most complex technical problems facing
mining and other rock engineering around the world.
The theme of RaSiM7 is Controlling Seismic Hazard and Sustainable
Development of Deep Mines, and the symposium program was developed to not
just address the critical questions regarding mining-induced seismicity and
rockburst, but also the related problems met in other civil engineering.
Papers in the two volumes have been grouped in three parts: understanding
seismic hazard, managing seismic hazard and dynamic behavior in civil
engineering, with the third part particularly emphasized in coal outburst
and water inrush in coal mining |
Computational
Physics
ed.
X-G Zhao, et al
Computational Physics is well established as the third
branch of physics, complementing experimental and theoretical physics. The
purpose
of the Joint Conference of ICCP6 and CCP2003, organized by IAPCM and held
in Beijing, was to bring together computational researchers from academia,
industry and government from all over the world, and to consolidate
up-to-date theories and applications of computational physics. This volume
consists of the extended version of the accepted presentations at the
conference, after further peer-reviews. The research areas covered in this
volume include, but are not limited to, condensed matter physics, plasma
physics, materials science, molecular dynamics, fluid dynamics,
biophysics, computer architectures, network architectures, parallel
computation and computational methods, etc.

Electronic
Information: Science and Technology -- Proc. of the 20th
Annual Meeting of the Electronic and Electrical Based Course-Teaching
Associateion of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education
in Middle-South China
ed GAN L C & Wang Z G
Electronic information is one of the most advanced sciences
and technologies that are widely used in almost every area. This 20th
academic annual meeting was held on July 28-31 2010 at Zheng Zhou Henan
province of China and organized by the Higher Education Institutions
Electronic and Electrical Basic-Courses-teaching Association of the Ministry
of Education of the People's Republic of China in Middle-South Area of
China. The success of the meeting represents another important step towards
deepening our understanding of the science and technology of electronic
information and, equally interesting, enhancing the educational reform in
teaching Electronic Information courses in the universities and colleges in
China. |

This volume is a collection of papers presented at the four
Workshops IWWOST, AHCW, WQ, and DIWE, held in conjunction with the 4th
International Conference on Web Engineering (ICWE'04). Web Engineering is a
new emergent discipline, which focuses on the definition of methodologies,
techniques and tools for the design, development and evaluation of complex
Web applications. Novel results in this area have been presented and
discussed during the ICWE'04 Workshops, with special attention on advanced application domains. This volume presents a selection of the best
contributions, providing an updated view on the Web Engineering researches
and applications. |

Quantum Field
Theory Under the Influence of External Conditions
ed.
K Milton
This
volume is a collection of papers presented at the 6th Workshop on Quantum
Field Theory Under the Influence of External Conditions, QFEXT03.
Controversies raged over the temperature dependence of the Casimir force
between real metal surfaces, and over the significance of divergences
encountered in calculations of Casimir energies. Such questions are being
addressed through both theoretical and experimental researches, which are
recounted in this book. Many other new ideas are presented, making this
proceedings of great interest to both experienced researchers and graduate
students concerned with both fundamental and applied issues in quantum field
theory. |

Twenty Years of SUGRA:
Search for SUSY and Unification SUGRA20
ed.
P
Nath
This volume is a collection of
papers presented at the conference "Twenty Years of SUGRA, Search for SUSY
and Unification" (March, 2003) to celebrate the twentieth year
since the invention of SUGRA models. The predictions of SUGRA models and specifically its minimal version mSUGRA will be tested at
the future collider experiments, i.e., at the Fermilab Tevatron and at the
Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland. Remarkably SUGRA,
mSUGRA also predict just the right amount of dark matter consistent with the
recent data from the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) and also
predict that such dark matter could be detected in the current and the
future dark matter detectors. |
