In this article, we describe the role of radiology for diagnosis and follow-up of progressive fibrosing interstitial lung disease (PF-ILD). Patients with PF-ILD are at increased risk for early death without treatment. Clinical diagnosis of PF-ILD has been described in the literature. This manuscript reviews the radiographic diagnosis of PF-ILD and the unique CT characteristics associated with specific types of fibrosis. Ultimately, we believe that radiology has the potential to recognize progression early and thus make an important contribution to the multidisciplinary discussion for this important diagnosis.

The mechanism of action of the so-called internal resorption of dentine is only one, either internal or external. Resorption can be produced by pathological causes. It is stressed how important is the precocious diagnosis. Radiographic diagnosis is commented. It is suggested the treatment by pulpectomy. The prognosis depends upon the resorption extension area.

Animal-vehicle collisions are the major cause of rescue and need for hospitalization in wildlife referral centers. Clinicians need easy-to-use tools to make rapid decisions about whether to euthanize or treat injured animals. The aim of the study was to evaluate the data (reasons for rescue, diagnosed lesions, and outcome) from a hospitalized population of wildlife ungulates and investigate the benefits of using radiography as a diagnostic tool. Data were collected from three wildlife referral centers in Tuscany (Italy). The following information was collected for each animal: reason for hospitalization, clinical examination, radiographic examination, definitive diagnosis, and outcome. A chi-squared test was used to assess the benefits of radiography in detecting different traumatic lesions. Prevalence was reported according to the reason for hospitalization, definitive diagnosis, radiographic diagnosis, and outcome. The main reason for hospitalization was traumatic lesions due to vehicle collisions and 71.1% of the animals did not survive. Radiography was more useful in patients with traumatic axial skeletal lesions and/or multiple traumas with respect to traumatic appendicular skeleton lesions. Our results show that radiography is a useful diagnostic technique for assessing wildlife emergencies and it could help the clinician in making medical decisions.

The purpose study was to test nine commercial brands of glass ionomer (Chelor Fill, Chelon Silver, Fuji II LC, Variglass Azul Variglass DY, Vitrebond, Vitremer Cimentaçãc e Vitremer Restauração) in order to identify one that is most radiopaque. This informatior would help in a future radiographic diagnosis o: analysis. In carrying out this experiment, nine glas ionomer samples were made from the nine brands mentioned above, and the oclusal anc apical regions of nine premolars teeth wert restored. Later, the samples as well as the restoœc premolars wcre submited to radiographi¿ exposure. The subjects went through densitometric evaluation, and the premola5 were visually evaluated by ten observers. In both densitometric and visua. evaluation, the results showed Chelon Silver as the most radiopaque of the glass ionome: followcd by Variglass DY. The least radiopaqut was Chelon Fili.

This prospective study aimed to blindly compare the ultrasonographic and standing magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI) findings in deep digital flexor tendon (DDFT), navicular bone, and navicular bursa in horses with foot pain, positive digital analgesia, and without definitive radiographic diagnosis. Ultrasonography detected more DDFT abnormalities (32/34 feet vs. 27/34 with sMRI) but identified less palmar navicular abnormalities (23/34 feet vs. 30/34 with sMRI). In suprasesamoidean DDFT lesions, which were mainly dorsally located, changes in echogenicity did not correspond to a particular pattern of sMRI signal change. Transcuneal ultrasonography did not allow assessment of morphology and extent of distal DDFT lesions, and sporadically discriminated the affected lobe compared to sMRI. Defects of the palmar compact bone were identified with both modalities except a parasagittal defect, which was only seen at sMRI.
