The key takeaways are that there are three stages of love in a marriage - superficial love, disillusionment, and mature love. Disillusionment is a healthy stage that helps remove false expectations. Having false expectations can damage a relationship if not addressed.

The three stages of love in a marriage relationship are superficial love, disillusionment, and mature love.

The 'disillusionment' stage of love is important because it helps remove any 'false expectations' by revealing each partner's true self. This stage cannot occur without first having illusions or expectations.

“Thus says the Lord, In an acceptable and favorable time I have heard and answered you, and in a day of
salvation I have helped you: and I will preserve you and give you for a covenant to the people to raise up and
establish the land [from its present state of ruin] and to apportion and cause them to inherit the desolate [moral
wastes of heathenism, their] heritages, saying to those who are bound, Come forth, and to those who are in
[spiritual] darkness, Show yourselves [come into the light of the SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS].” Isaiah 49:8-9.

Dear Intercessor:

In every human relationship, marriage being the most intimate, there are three stages of love.
The FIRST stage is SUPERFICIAL. When we are first getting to know someone, we usually
only relate on a very shallow level. Initially, we try to put our best foot forward, because we are
trying to win one another’s love and approval. However, as time progresses, we begin to let our
guard down, revealing sides of ourselves that we would have been afraid to UNVEIL until we
were more secure in one another’s love. The longer our relationship is tested through life’s
circumstances, the more it tends to bring out the best and the worst of who we REALLY are!

This brings us to the SECOND stage of love, which is DISILLUSIONMENT. It doesn’t take us
too long to realize that this is NOT the person that we THOUGHT we married! Actually, this is
a very healthy and important stage of development. We cannot be DISILLUSIONED unless we
FIRST have some ILLUSIONS. An illusion is simply a FALSE EXPECTATION—and false
expectations ALWAYS bring DISAPPOINTMENT.

Several years ago, I knew a man who was preparing to marry, and the closer the wedding day
came, the more he noticed things in his future wife that did not meet his expectations of the way
he always DREAMED she would be. He had always DREAMED that she would have certain
physical characteristics—and she did NOT! He had always DREAMED that falling in love
would feel a certain way—and it did NOT! He had always DREAMED that she would respond
to his love in a certain way—and she did NOT!

One night, shortly before they were to marry, he had a DREAM. (Imagine that!). He
DREAMED that he was at the altar with his bride saying his vows. He could not see her face
because the VEIL obscured his view. When they finished with the vows, the minister said, “You
may kiss the bride.” When he lifted the VEIL, his “BRIDE” was a grotesque DEMON!
Needless to say, he was startled out of a deep sleep. He asked the Lord why he had just seen a
demon instead of his future bride! He said, “That is the Spirit of False Expectations. You have
been married to her for quite some time in your DREAMS. You must first DIVORCE her before
you are free to marry the woman that I desire to give to you.” How many of us, when we have
walked down the aisle, have committed to the person we THINK our spouse is, instead of who
they REALLY are? That is why commitment wanes in so many marriages.

3
When we come to the stage of DISILLUSIONMENT—and ALL of us will sooner or later—we
have three choices with which to respond. First, we can say, “I must have made a mistake—I’m
out of here!” Then we are off to find someone else who will fit our illusion—only to be
disappointed again—because, unfortunately, illusions are NEVER based on reality.

Secondly, we can try to squeeze our spouse into the mold of our illusion through manipulation,
intimidation or domination, and make life miserable for both of us—not to mention that those
kind of tactics are nothing short of witchcraft!

Thirdly, we can cry out to the Lord and say, “DIS-illusion me!” Remember that the man could
not see his “bride” in the dream because of the VEIL. It is interesting to note that the material
used in bridal veils is called, “SILK ILLUSION”. Illusions always shroud or VEIL REALITY.
They are mirages that will always mislead us. So, when we ask the Lord to DIS-illusion us, we
are asking for Him to strip away every VEIL—every false expectation that keeps us from loving
the REAL person unconditionally.

If we choose the last response, we will step into the THIRD stage of love, which is the
SUPERNATURAL phase. Here, we begin to ask the Lord to help us to see our husband with
HIS eyes and LOVE him with HIS love—and He will overwhelmingly meet us there with HIS
ability to love.

HUMAN love at its very best is simply an extension of SELF-LOVE. “I love you because you
meet MY needs and MY expectations, and when you stop meeting MY needs or MY
expectations, I don’t love you anymore!”

Scripture Prayers for Husbands is designed to aid us in coming into the THIRD stage of love. As
we begin to speak the Word of God over our husbands, we will begin to see them the way that
God sees them. God is a God of FAITH—He always sees us as the finished product.

When we pray, “Lord, change my husband,” it is easy to be focused on the things that do not
meet our expectations. However, when we speak the Word of God over them, WE are the first
ones to change. Our perspective of our husband begins to be consistent with the things that we
are speaking OVER him in prayer. Then, we will even find ourselves saying some of those very
things TO him. Absolutely NOTHING inspires change more than someone believing in you—
someone seeing you as a winner. Proverbs 18:20-21 says,

“A man’s moral self shall be filled with the fruit of this mouth; and with the
consequence of his words he must be satisfied whether good or evil. Death and
life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of
it for death or life.”

May we be like the woman in Proverbs 31:26 who, “…opens her mouth in skillful and godly
Wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness giving counsel and instruction.” May we see
the Word of God which we declare in prayer transform our marriages into exactly the same

4
image that we are creating with our words—into HIS very own image—into the glory of the Lord
Himself!

“And all of us, as with UNVEILED FACE, because we continued to behold in the
WORD OF GOD as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being
transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one
degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord Who is the Spirit.” (II
Corinthians 3:18).

SCRIPTURE PRAYERS FOR HUSBANDS

MARRIAGE RELATIONSHIP

Father, I declare that I am a capable, intelligent and virtuous woman. ‘s

heart trusts in me confidently and relies on and believes in me safely, so that he has no lack of
honest gain or need of dishonest spoil. I will comfort, encourage and do him only good as long
as there is life within me. I work willingly with my hands. I diligently plan nourishing and tasty
meals. I rise while it is night and get SPIRITUAL food, as well, for all of my household. I never
court neglect of my present duties or responsibilities to assume others. I gird myself with
spiritual, mental and physical fitness for my God-given tasks and make my arms strong and firm.
All of my gain from work with and for You is good. My lamp does not go out, but it burns on
continually through the night of trouble, privation or sorrow, warning away fear, doubt and
distrust. My hands are creative in all that I endeavor. I see to it that my family is well clothed.
________________________ is known in the City's gates, when he sits among the elders. I am
enterprising in everything I do. Strength and dignity are my clothing and my position is strong
and secure. I rejoice over the future knowing that my family and I are in readiness for it. I open
my mouth with skillful and godly wisdom, and in my tongue is the law of kindness, giving
counsel and instruction. I look well to how things go in my household, and the bread of
idleness, gossip, discontent and self-pity I will not eat. My children rise up and call me blessed
and __________________________ boasts of and praises me saying that
many daughters have done virtuously, nobly and well with the strength of character that is
steadfast in goodness, but I excel them all. Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain,
because it is not lasting, but because I reverently and worshipfully fear You, Father, I shall be
praised. Give me the fruit of my hands, and let my own works praise me in the gates of the city!
(Proverbs 31:10-31).

Father, I declare that I am submissive to . I subordinate myself

as being secondary to and dependent on him, and I adapt myself to him, so that even if he does
not obey the Word of God, he is being won over NOT by discussion, but by my godly life, when
he observes the pure and modest way in which I conduct myself, together with my reverence for
him. I feel for him all that reverence includes—respect, deference, honor, esteem, appreciation,
adoration, admiration, praise, devotion, deep love and enjoyment. My adorning is not merely
external, but it is INWARD with the beauty of the hidden Person of the heart, with the
incorruptible and unfading charm of a GENTLE and PEACEFUL SPIRIT, which is not anxious
or wrought up, but is very precious in Your sight. Because my HOPE is in YOU, Lord, I obey,
following HIS guidance and acknowledging HIS headship over me by calling him lord—master,
leader, authority. I am Your true daughter because I do what is right and let NOTHING
TERRIFY Me—not giving way to hysterical fears or letting anxieties unnerve me. (I Peter
3:1-6).

6
Father, I declare that lives considerately with me, with an intelligent
recognition of the marriage relation, honoring me as physically the weaker, but realizing that we
are joint heirs of Your grace. Therefore, his prayers are not hindered and cut off. (I Peter 3:7).

Father, I declare that and I are ONE and of the SAME MIND—
united in spirit—sympathizing with one another, loving each other compassionately, courteously,
tenderheartedly and humble-mindedly. We never return evil for evil or insult for insult, scolding,
tongue-lashing, or berating; but on the contrary, blessing, praying for each other's welfare,
happiness and protection, truly pitying and loving each other. (I Peter 3:8-9).

Father, I declare that I am sane, sober-minded, temperate and disciplined. I love my husband and
children. I am self-controlled, chaste, a good homemaker, good-natured, kindhearted, adapting
and subordinating myself to my husband. Therefore, Your Word is not being exposed to
reproach, nor is it blasphemed or discredited. (Titus 2:4-5).

Father, I declare that loves me as Jesus loved the church and gave Himself
up for her. He loves me as being in a sense his own body. (Ephesians 5:25, 28).

Father, I declare that has LEFT his father and mother and has been
joined to me, and we have become one flesh. (Ephesians 5:31).

Father, I declare that our marriage is held in honor, esteemed worthy, precious and of great price
and especially dear in ALL things by BOTH of us. Our marriage bed is KEPT honorable and
undefiled. (Hebrews 13:4).

Father, I declare that gives me my conjugal rights of goodwill,

kindness, and what is due me as a wife, and likewise I do the same for him. I do not have
exclusive authority and control over my own body, but he has his rights; likewise also he does
not have exclusive authority over his own body, but I have my rights. We do not refuse, deprive
or defraud each other of our due marital rights, except by mutual consent for a time that we may
devote ourselves unhindered to prayer, but afterwards we resume relations, so that Satan cannot
tempt us to sin in sexual matters. (I Corinthians 7:3-5).

Father, I declare that drinks waters from his own cistern of a

pure marriage relationship and fresh running waters out of his own well. He confines himself to
his own wife and lets his children be for him alone, and not the children of strangers with him.
He lets the fountain of human life be blessed with the rewards of fidelity, and he rejoices with me
as his wife. He lets me be as the loving hind and pleasant doe—tender, gentle, and attractive. He
lets my bosom satisfy him at all times, and he is always transported with delight in my love.
(Proverbs 5:15-19).

Father, I declare that has dictated a covenant to his eyes that

he would not look lustfully upon a woman. (Job 31:1).

Father, I declare that my desire and craving is for my husband. (Genesis 3:16).

7
Father, I declare that and I live in HARMONY, and
we are of the SAME MIND and ONE in PURPOSE, having the SAME LOVE, being in FULL
ACCORD and of ONE harmonious mind and intention. We do NOTHING from factional
motives—through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends—or prompted by
conceit and empty arrogance. But instead, in the true spirit of HUMILITY, we each regard the
other as BETTER than and superior to ourselves, thinking more highly of one another than we do
ourselves. We each esteem, look upon and are concerned for not merely our own interests, but
also for the interests of each other. (Philippians 2:2-4).

Father, I declare that I am a virtuous and worthy wife. I am earnest and strong in character. I am
a crowning joy to . (Proverbs 12:4).

8
RELATIONSHIP WITH CHILDREN

Father, I declare that I am a joyful mother of children, and because ____________________

fears You, I am like a fruitful vine in the innermost parts of his house and his children are like
olive plants round about his table, and he shall see his children's children. (Psalm 113:9; Psalm
128:3-4).

them. When they sleep, it is keeping them; when they waken, it is talking with them. (Proverbs
1:8; Proverbs 6:22).

Father, I declare that tends, nurtures, guards, guides and folds

our children; NOT by COERCION or CONSTRAINT, but WILLINGLY; NOT
DISHONORABLY motivated by the advantages belonging to his office as father, but
EAGERLY and CHEERFULLY, NOT as an ARROGANT, DICTATORIAL and
OVERBEARING father, domineering over his children, but being an EXAMPLE, PATTERN,
and MODEL of Christian living to them. (I Peter 5:2-3).

Father I declare that does not irritate and provoke our children to anger.
He does not exasperate them to resentment, but he rears them tenderly in the training, discipline,
counsel and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4).

of our children to ______________________ and his heart to them. Therefore, our children
OBEY their parents in the Lord, they HONOR, ESTEEM and VALUE, as PRECIOUS their
father and mother. As a result, ALL is WELL with them, and they shall live long upon the earth.
I have confidence in You, Father, that our children are DOING and will CONTINUE TO DO the
things which ________________________ and I suggest and charge them to do. (Malachi 4:5-6;
Ephesians 6:1-3; 11 Thessalonians 3:4).

Father, I declare that our children are ATTENTIVE to ’s

wisdom, which he has learned by actual and costly experience. (Proverbs 5:1).

Father, I declare that loves You with all of his mind and heart,
and with his entire being, and with all of his might. Your Word is FIRST PLACE in his mind
and heart. He is whetting and sharpening Your words so as to make them penetrate, and teaching
and impressing them diligently upon the minds and hearts of his children. He is talking of Your
words when he sits in his house, and when he walks by the way, and when he lies down, and
when he rises up. He is binding them as a sign on his hand, and Your words are as frontlets

9
between his eyes. He is writing Your words upon the doorposts of his house and on his gates.

him and will go well with his children forever. (Deuteronomy 6:5-9; Deuteronomy 5:29).

(Proverbs 4:1).

his words in the center of their hearts. (Proverbs 4:20-21).

and instruction. (Proverbs 13:1).

Father, I declare that disciplines our children while there is

himself to his ruin. (Proverbs 19:18).

Father, I declare that is driving foolishness far from the

hearts of our children and saving their lives from hell, because he does not spare or withhold the
rod of discipline. (Proverbs 22:14; Proverbs 23:13-14).

Father, I declare that responds to our children with long forbearing and
calmness of spirit. His soft speech breaks down even the most bonelike resistance. (Proverbs
25:15).

him rest and bring delight to his heart. (Proverbs 29:17).

the day of Your power. (Psalm 110:3).

Father, I declare that is cleansing himself from what is

influences. Therefore, he is a vessel set apart and USEFUL for honorable and noble purposes,
consecrated and profitable to You, FIT and READY for ANY good work. (II Timothy 2:21).

Thank You Father, that You are clearing of hidden and

unconscious faults. You are making the words of his mouth and the meditation of his heart to be
acceptable in Your sight. (Psalm 19:12,14).

life. (I John 5:21).

Father, I declare that trusts in You with ALL of his heart and
mind, and he does NOT rely on his own insight or understanding. In ALL of his ways he
acknowledges You, and You are directing his paths. He is not wise in his own eyes, but he
reverently fears You, and he is turning entirely away from evil. (Proverbs 3:5-7).

Father, I declare that is stripping off and throwing aside

EVERY ENCUMBRANCE, UNNECESSARY WEIGHT, and SIN that so readily clings to and
entangles him, and he is running with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the
APPOINTED COURSE of the race that is set before him, looking AWAY from ALL that
DISTRACTS, to Your Son, Jesus. (Hebrews 12:1-2).

Father, I declare that is DENYING, DISOWNING,

FORGETTING, REFUSING, GIVING UP and LOSING SIGHT of HIMSELF and his OWN
INTERESTS, and taking up HIS CROSS DAILY and FOLLOWING YOU. (Luke 9:23).

(Isaiah 50:4).

Father, I declare that is not merely walking, but RUNNING the

way of Your commandments, because You have given him a heart that is WILLING. (Psalm
119:32).

Father, I declare that is motivated by faith to leave ALL that is

behind him, and he is unawed and undismayed by the wrath of those people or adverse
circumstances that would oppose him. He NEVER FLINCHES, but HOLDS STAUNCHLY to
his purpose and endures steadfastly as one who gazes on You, the Invisible One. (Hebrews
11:27).

Father, I declare that because You have called , he is OBEYING

him. (Hebrews 11:8).

Father, I declare that even though You are revealing to______________________________

OBEYING You EXPLICITLY. (Hebrews 11:7).

Father, I declare that ’s way is NOT of those who draw back

to eternal misery and are utterly destroyed, but he is of those who BELIEVE. You are effectually
at work WITHIN him ENERGIZING and CREATING in him both the POWER and DESIRE to
WILL and to WORK for Your good pleasure, satisfaction and delight. Therefore, he is
VIOLENTLY SEIZING the kingdom by force as a PRECIOUS PRIZE. He is seeking for a share

of the world, and the distractions of the age, and the pleasure and delight and false glamour and
deceitfulness of riches, and the craving and passionate desire for other things to creep in and

12
choke and suffocate the Word, so that it becomes fruitless in his life, but he is ALLOWING the
seed of the Word which You have spoken to his heart to fall on good soil—he is RECEIVING,
ACCEPTING and WELCOMING it and bearing fruit one hundred fold. (Mark 4:19-20).

Father, I declare that is FORSAKING, RENOUNCING,

SURRENDERING CLAIM, GIVING UP and SAYING GOODBYE to ALL that he has in order
that he may be counted worthy to be Your disciple. (Luke 14:33).

Father, I declare that is GOING ON and getting past the

elementary stage in the teachings and doctrines of Christ, and ADVANCING STEADILY toward

Father, I declare that WHATEVER does, no matter WHAT it is,

in WORD or DEED, he does EVERYTHING in the name of the Lord Jesus and in dependence
upon His Person, giving You praise through Him. (Colossians 3:17).

Father, I declare that is EARNEST, UNWEARIED and

STEADFAST in his prayer life, being both alert and intent in his praying with thanksgiving. He
prays at ALL times, on EVERY occasion, in EVERY season—in the Spirit, with all manner of
prayer and entreaty. He keeps alert and watchful with a STRONG PURPOSE and
PERSEVERANCE. (Colossians 4:2; Ephesians 6:18).

keeps them in the center of his heart. Your words are life, healing and health to ALL of his flesh.
He keeps his heart with all vigilance, above all that he guards, for out of it flows the springs of
life. He puts away from him vain and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary talk he puts far
from him. He lets his eyes look right on with FIXED PURPOSE, and he lets his gaze be straight
before him. He considers well the path of his feet and he lets ALL of his ways be established and
ordered aright. He turns not aside to the right hand or to the left; he removes his foot from evil.

righteousness; and therefore, he is completely satisfied. (Matthew 5:6).

Father, I declare that knows You; therefore, he is proving

himself STRONG, STANDING FIRM, and DOING EXPLOITS for You. (Daniel 11:32).

Father, You have said in Your Word that in a race, all the runners compete, but only ONE
receives the prize. Therefore, I declare that is running HIS race
so that HE may lay hold of the prize and make it HIS. He, like every athlete who goes into
training, is conducting himself temperately, and restricting himself in ALL things. He is not

13
running uncertainly—without definite aim, or boxing as one beating the air and striking without
an adversary, but he looks CAREFULLY to how he walks. He lives PURPOSEFULLY,
WORTHILY and ACCURATELY, not as the unwise and witless, but as a WISE, SENSIBLE
and INTELLIGENT man; making the VERY MOST of his time—buying up EACH opportunity
—because the days are evil. He is not vague, thoughtless or foolish, but he UNDERSTANDS
and FIRMLY GRASPS what Your will is. (I Corinthians 9:24-26; Ephesians 5:15-17).

EARNEST ENDEAVOR; he is AGLOW and BURNING with the SPIRIT, serving You. He
REJOICES and exults in HOPE; he is STEADFAST and PATIENT in suffering and tribulation,
and he is CONSTANT in prayer. (Romans 12:11-12).

Father, I declare that _ ’s attitude is like that of the boy, Samuel. When
You speak to him, his reply is, “Speak, Lord, for Your servant is LISTENING.” (I Samuel 3:9).

Father, I declare that knows what a critical hour this is, and
how it is high time NOW for him to wake up out of his sleep and rouse to reality. The night is
far-gone and the day is almost here. Therefore, he is dropping and flinging away the works and
deeds of darkness and putting on the full armor of light. He is living and conducting himself
HONORABLY and BECOMINGLY as in the open light of day. He is clothing himself with the
Lord Jesus Christ, and making NO PROVISION for indulging the flesh. He is putting a STOP to
thinking about the evil cravings of his physical nature to gratify its desires and lusts. (Romans
13:11-14).

Father, I declare that is working the works of Him Who sent

him and he is BUSY with YOUR business while it is daylight. (John 9:4).

MIGHTY MAN of FEARLESS COURAGE. (Judges 6:12).

DILIGENTLY, and he is FINDING You. (Proverbs 8: 17).

Father, I declare that PLEASES You by his faith. He is COMING

NEAR to You because he believes that You exist, and that You are a rewarder of those who
diligently seek You. (Hebrews 11:6).

14
Father, I declare that like David, is serving YOUR WILL,
PURPOSE and COUNSEL in his own generation; like David, he is a man after Your own heart,
who is doing ALL Your will and carrying out Your program FULLY. (Acts 13:36; Acts 13:22)

15
DISCOVERING THE CALL OF GOD

Thank You, Father, that You are faithful Who has called ___________________________,
and You will fulfill Your call upon his life by hallowing and keeping him. You are making
known to him the mystery and secret of Your WILL, Your PLAN and Your PURPOSE for his
life. (I Thessalonians 5:24; Ephesians 1:9).

Thank You, Father, that You are granting a spirit of

wisdom and revelation—of insight into mysteries and secrets—in the deep and intimate
knowledge of You, by having the eyes of his heart flooded with light, so that he knows and
understands the hope to which You have called him and how rich is Your glorious inheritance in
the saints, and so that he knows and understands what is the immeasurable, unlimited and
surpassing greatness of Your power in and for him. (Ephesians 1:17-19).

Thank You, Father, that You are instructing and teaching him in
the way that he should go. You are counseling him with Your eye upon him. (Psalm 32:8).

Father, I declare that does not quench, suppress or subdue

the Holy Spirit. He does not spurn the gifts and utterances of the prophets. He does not
depreciate prophetic revelations nor despise inspired instruction, exhortation or warning, but he
tests and proves ALL things UNTIL he can RECOGNIZE what is GOOD, and to THAT he
HOLDS FAST. (I Thessalonians 5:20-22).

Father, I declare that is enriched in EVERY respect through

Your Son, Jesus, in FULL POWER and READINESS of SPEECH, and COMPLETE
KNOWLEDGE and ILLUMINATION to give him FULL INSIGHT into the meaning of that
which You are speaking to him. (I Corinthians 1:5).

Thank You, Father, that Your Spirit rests upon ; the spirit of
WISDOM and UNDERSTANDING, the spirit of COUNSEL and MIGHT, the spirit of
KNOWLEDGE and the reverential and OBEDIENT FEAR of the Lord. Therefore, I declare that
You are making him of QUICK UNDERSTANDING, and his delight is in the reverential and
obedient fear of You. He does not judge by the sight of his eyes, neither does he DECIDE by the
hearing of his ears, but he judges with righteous judgment. (Isaiah 11:2-4).

Father, I declare that the things that are hidden in ’s life

regarding his future, are only as a means to revelation. There is nothing hidden except to be
revealed, nor is anything temporarily kept secret except in order that it may be made known to
him. (Mark 4-22).

Father, I declare that is zealous and is exerting himself and

striving diligently to enter into Your rest, which comes when he FINDS OUT where YOU, the
Ancient One, have been walking, and HE WALKS WITH YOU fulfilling Your generational

16
purposes for his life. Therefore, he is not failing or perishing by the same kind of unbelief and
disobedience into which those in the wilderness fell. (Jeremiah 6:16; Hebrews 4:11).

Thank You, Father, that You are showing where he

belongs in Your church. You are joining and firmly knitting him together with the proper joints
and ligaments in Your body. He is working properly in all of his functions with a power adapted
to his need in Your church. (Ephesians 4:16).

Father, I declare that because _ fears You, he has Your secrets. You
are showing him Your covenant and revealing to him its deep, inner meaning. (Psalm 25:14).

Thank You, Father, for giving the faith to know that

You can do ALL things, and that NO THOUGHT or PURPOSE of YOURS can be restrained or
thwarted. (Job 42:2).

Thank You, Father, that before You formed in the womb,

You knew and approved of him as Your chosen instrument, and before he was born, You
separated and set him apart, consecrating him, and You appointed him to his specific calling and
destiny in You. (Jeremiah 1:5).

Thank You, Father, that as You have thought and planned concerning _____________________,
SO SHALL IT COME TO PASS; and as You have purposed, SO SHALL IT STAND. For what
YOU have purposed—WHO CAN ANNUL IT? When YOUR hand is stretched out, WHO
WILL TURN IT BACK? What YOU speak is DONE. What YOU command, STANDS FAST.
YOU bring the counsel of nations to naught; YOU make the thoughts and plans of the peoples to
NO EFFECT. YOUR counsel stands forever; the thoughts of YOUR heart to all generations.
(Isaiah 14:24, 27; Psalm 33:9-11).

Thank You, Father, that ’s Teacher will not hide Himself anymore, but
his eyes shall CONSTANTLY behold YOU, his Teacher. His ears shall hear a word behind him,
saying, “This is the way, walk in it," when he turns to the right hand and when he turns to the
left. (Isaiah 30:20-21).

Thank You, Father, that You are opening ’s eyes to behold

wondrous things out of Your law. (Psalm 119-18).

Father, I declare that EVERY PURPOSE or UNDERTAKING that is of HUMAN origin in

________________________’s life is FAILING, being OVERTHROWN and coming to
NOTHING, and EVERY PURPOSE or UNDERTAKING that is of YOU is NOT able to be
STOPPED, OVERTHROWN or DESTROYED. (Acts 5:38-39).

Thank You, Father, that You are with ____________________________, and You see him as a
mighty man of fearless courage. (Judges 6:12).

17
Thank You, Father, that the Holy Spirit is announcing and declaring to _____________________
the things that are to come—that will happen in the future. (John 16:13).

Father, I declare that because believes in You, he

shall NEVER be disappointed in his expectations or put to shame. (I Peter 2:6).

18
ACCOMPLISHING THE WILL OF GOD

Thank You, Father, that You Who began a good work in ______________________________
will continue developing that good work and perfecting and bringing it to FULL COMPLETION
in him. (Philippians 1:6).

Father, I declare that ’s gift is making room for him and is

bringing him before great men. (Proverbs 18:16).

Father, I declare that is crying unto You, Who performs on

his behalf and rewards him. You are bringing to pass YOUR PURPOSES for him and SURELY
COMPLETING them. (Psalm 57:2).

Father, I declare that does NOT fling away his fearless

confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward. He is ENDURING
STEADFASTLY so that he may PERFORM and FULLY ACCOMPLISH Your will. Therefore,
I am rejoicing because I know that he will RECEIVE and CARRY AWAY and ENJOY to the
FULL what You have promised him. (Hebrews 10:35-36).

Father, I declare that because love is abounding in ’s life, every

fear has been turned out of doors, and every trace of terror has been expelled. (I John 4:18).

Father, I declare that is a disciple—taught of You and

OBEDIENT to YOUR WILL—GREAT is his PEACE and UNDISTURBED COMPOSURE.
(Isaiah 54:13).

Thank You, Father, that Your gifts and callings upon ’s life
are IRREVOCABLE—without repentance or regret—You NEVER withdraw them once they are
given and You do NOT change Your mind about those to whom You give Your grace or to
whom You send Your call. Therefore, I declare that because You are imparting this revelation to
him, he is ALL THE MORE solicitous and eager to MAKE SURE and STRENGTHEN his
CALLING and ELECTION. Therefore, he NEVER stumbles or falls. (Romans 11:29; II Peter
1:10)

Father, I declare that freedom of utterance has been given to_____________________________

that he may open his mouth to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news of the gospel.
(Ephesians 6:19).

Thank You, Father, that You, the God of Peace, are strengthening, completing, perfecting and
making ________________________ what he ought to be. You are equipping him with
EVERYTHING GOOD that he may CARRY OUT YOUR WILL; while You Yourself work in
him and accomplish that which is pleasing in Your sight. (Hebrews 13:20-21).

19
Father, I declare that is making the prophetic words that
have been spoken over him firmer still, by paying close attention to them as to a lamp shining in
a dismal, squalid and dark place UNTIL the day breaks through the gloom and the Morning Star
rises in his heart. (II Peter 1:19)

Father, I declare that is not growing weary, exhausted, losing

heart, relaxing and fainting in his mind, because You are giving him power, and You are
increasing his strength and causing it to multiply and abound. Because he is waiting on You, he
is changing and renewing his strength and power; he is lifting his wings and mounting up close to
You as eagles mount up to the sun; he is running and not growing weary; he is walking and not
fainting or becoming tired. (Hebrews 12:3; Isaiah 40:29, 31).

Father, I declare that is strong in You. He is empowered

through his union with You. He draws his strength from You—that strength, which Your
boundless might provides. He puts on Your whole armor that he may be able successfully to
stand up against all the strategies and deceits of the devil. Having done all that the crisis
demands, he stands firmly in his place. (Ephesians 6:10-11, 13).

Father, I declare that is filled with the full, deep and clear
knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and comprehensive insight into Your ways and
purposes, and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things, so that he is walking, living
and conducting himself in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing to You and DESIRING to
please You in ALL things, bearing fruit in EVERY good work and steadily growing and
increasing in and by a knowledge of You, with fuller, deeper and clearer insight, acquaintance
and recognition. He is invigorated and strengthened with ALL POWER, according to the might
of Your glory, to exercise every kind of endurance and patience WITH JOY. (Colossians
1:9-11).

Thank You, Father, that You have called . You have brought
him, and You are making his way prosperous. You will do ALL Your pleasure and purpose
concerning him. What You have spoken to him, You are bringing to pass; what You have
purposed, you are DOING! (Isaiah 48:15; Isaiah 46:10-11).

Father, I declare that although has many plans in his

mind, it is YOUR PURPOSE for him that will stand. He is rolling his works upon You and
committing and trusting them wholly to You; YOU are CAUSING his THOUGHTS to become
AGREEABLE to YOUR WILL; and therefore, his plans are being established and succeeding.
(Proverbs 19:21; Proverbs 16:3).

Father, I declare that ’s love is abounding yet more and

more and extending to its fullest development in knowledge and all keen insight. His love is
displaying itself in greater depth of acquaintance and more comprehensive discernment, so that
he is surely learning to sense what is VITAL, and approving and prizing what is EXCELLENT'
and of REAL VALUE, recognizing the HIGHEST and the BEST, and distinguishing the moral
differences. Therefore, he is UNTAINTED, PURE, UNERRING and BLAMELESS, with a

20
heart that is SINCERE, CERTAIN and UNSULLIED. He is approaching the Day of Christ, not
stumbling nor causing others to stumble. He is abounding in and being filled with the fruits of
righteousness. Your glory is being both manifested and recognized in him. (Philippians 1:9-11).

Father, I declare that is working out, cultivating,

carrying out to the goal and fully completing his own salvation, with reverence, awe and
trembling—self-distrust, serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against
temptation—timidly shrinking from whatever might offend You and discredit the Name of
Christ. Not in his OWN strength, for it is YOU Who are all the while effectually at work in him
—energizing and creating in him the POWER and DESIRE—both to WILL and to WORK for
Your good pleasure, satisfaction and delight. (Philippians 2:12-13).

21
THE BACKSLIDEN, ESTRANGED OR UNSAVED HUSBAND

Father, I declare that is coming up weeping as he comes to seek You,

inquiring FOR and OF You, and requiring You both by right of necessity and of the promises of
Your Word. He is asking the way to Zion with his face in that direction, saying, "I am coming to
join myself to the Lord, in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten." (Jeremiah 50:4-5).

Thank You, Father, that You are pouring out of Your spirit upon_________________________
with prophecies, dreams and visions. Therefore, I declare that he has repented and changed his
views; and he has purposed to accept Your will in his inner self instead of rejecting it. By faith, I
see him baptized in water, and having received the gift of the Holy Spirit. I see him
CONTINUALLY being filled and stimulated with the Holy Spirit. (Joel 2:28; Acts 2:38;
Ephesians 5:18).

Thank You, Father, that You are certainly delivering and drawing_________________________
unto Yourself from EVERY ASSAULT of evil. You are preserving and bringing him safe unto
Your heavenly kingdom. (II Timothy 4:18).

Father, I declare that as Your Word is going forth in prayer over__________________________,

it is bringing healing to him, and rescuing him from the pit and destruction. (Psalm 107:20).

Father, I declare that as I speak Your Word over _______________________________, it is

cleansing him and pruning him. (John 15:3).

Thank You, Father, that You CHOSE and formed him

FOR YOURSELF, that he might set forth Your praise and HE SHALL DO IT. (Isaiah
43:20-21).

Father, I choose to SING PRAISE in advance for the FULFILLMENT of YOUR WORD over
_________________________. (Psalm 119:172).

Thank You, Father, that You are giving as a GIFT of Your

GRACE, the ABILITY to KEEP Your precepts, HEARING, RECEIVING, LOVING and
OBEYING them. (Psalm 119:56).

Father, I declare that as Your Word is going forth in prayer over _________________________,
it is REVIVING him and giving him LIFE. (Psalm 119:50).

Father, I declare that the words of Godly WISDOM which You are giving me to speak over
___________________________ IN PRAYER are bringing him HEALING. They are going
forth as PRODDING GOADS, urging him to ACTION, and are firmly fixed in his mind like
NAILS. They are like FIRE consuming ALL that cannot endure the test in his life, and like a
HAMMER that breaks in pieces the rock of MOST STUBBORN RESISTANCE. Then, AFTER
I have prayed, I ask for the sensitivity to know when and how to speak and when NOT to speak
to HIM. Help me to remember that, “....he who REPEATS or HARPS on a matter separates
even close friends.” Help my life to ALWAYS LOVINGLY express TRUTH in ALL things in
my relationship to . Keep me ever mindful that YOUR WORD
is TRUTH, and NOT what I perceive with my senses; therefore, it is YOUR WORD that I need
to be speaking over him—NOT CRITICISM, FAULTFINDING or JUDGMENT, knowing that
even if he does not obey the Word, You have promised that he would be won over NOT by
DISCUSSION but by my godly life. May I always respond to him with a SOFT ANSWER, that
it would turn away wrath, and grant me a GENTLE tongue, that it would bring healing.
(Proverbs 11:18; Ecclesiastes 12:11; Jeremiah 23:29; Isaiah 50: 4; Proverbs 17:9b; Ephesians
4:15; Psalm 119:160; I Peter 3:1; Proverbs 15:1, 4).

Father, I declare that as Your Word is going forth in prayer over , it is

CAUSING him to avoid the ways of the VIOLENT and the paths of the DESTROYER. (Psalm
17:4).

Father, I declare that as I pray Your Word over today, I

can rest in the assurance that Your Word declares that as many as are Your promises, they ALL
find their YES answer in Jesus. I praise You, that You have bestowed on him Your precious and
exceedingly great promises, so that THROUGH THEM he is escaping from the moral decay,
rottenness and corruption that is in the world because of covetousness, lust and greed, and he is
becoming a sharer and partaker of Your divine nature. (II Corinthians 1:20; II Peter 1:4).

Father, I declare that is ACKNOWLEDGING his

OFFENSES, FEELING his GUILT, and EARNESTLY SEEKING Your FACE saying “…let me
RETURN to the Lord.” He is returning with ALL of his heart—with fasting and weeping—until
EVERY HINDRANCE is removed, and broken fellowship is restored. He is rending his
HEART and NOT his garments. Therefore, You are having pity on him. You are healing him,
binding him up, reviving him and raising him up, that he may LIVE before You. He is
determined in his heart to be ZEALOUS to KNOW You—to APPRECIATE, give HEED to and
CHERISH You. You are coming to him as the heavy rain, as the LATTER RAIN that waters the
earth. (Hosea 5:15-6:3; Joel 2:12-13, 18).

Father, I declare that when sinners entice , he DOES NOT

CONSENT. He will NOT associate with the rebellious or disobedient, but he tries to learn in his
experience what is pleasing to You. His life is a CONSTANT PROOF of what is most
acceptable to You. He takes NO PART in and has NO FELLOWSHIP with the fruitless deeds
and enterprises of darkness, but INSTEAD, he lets his life be so in contrast as to expose, reprove
and convict those in darkness. (Proverbs 1:10, Ephesians 5:6b -7, 10-11).

Father, I declare that sets NO base or wicked thing before his

eyes. He HATES the work of them who turn aside from the right path. IT SHALL NOT
GRASP HOLD OF HIM. A perverse heart has DEPARTED from him. He knows NO evil
person or thing. (Psalm 10 1:3-4).
Thank You, Father, that You are CLEARING of HIDDEN
and UNCONSCIOUS FAULTS. You are making the words of his mouth and the meditation of
his heart to be acceptable in Your sight. (Psalm 19:12, 14).

Father, I declare that is coming out from among unbelievers.

He is separating and severing himself from them. He touches not any unclean thing. (II
Corinthians 6:17).

Father, I declare that knows what a CRITICAL hour this is,

and how it is high time NOW for him to rouse out of his sleep and rouse to REALITY. The
night is far gone and the day is almost here. Therefore, he is dropping and flinging away the
works and deeds of darkness and putting on the full armor of light. He is living and conducting
himself honorably and becomingly as in the open light of day. He is clothing himself with the
Lord Jesus Christ, and making NO provision for indulging the flesh. He is putting a STOP to
thinking about the evil cravings of his physical nature to gratify its desires and lusts. (Romans
13:11-14).

Father, I declare that has been delivered from corrupt and

evil companions. He has repented and come to know the truth. He has come to his senses and
escaped out of the snare of the devil who has held him captive, henceforth to do YOUR WILL.
He walks as a companion of the WISE, and therefore HE is WISE. (II Timothy 2:25-26;
Proverbs 13:20; I Corinthians 15:33).

Father, I declare that is arising from the depression and

prostration in which circumstances have kept him, and he is rising to a new life. He is shining
radiantly with Your glory. His light has come and Your glory has risen upon him. (Isaiah 60:1).

Father, I declare that by ’s obedience through the Holy

Spirit, he has purified his heart for the sincere affection of the brethren, and loves them fervently
from a pure heart. (I Peter 1:22).

Father, I declare that braces up his mind. He is

sober, circumspect and morally alert. He has set his hope wholly and unchangeably on Your
grace, and he lives as a child of obedience. As You are holy Who has called him, he is also holy
in all his conduct and manner of living. (I Peter 1:13-15).

Father, I declare that is awaking from his stupor and

returning to sober sense and his right mind, and he sins no more. (I Corinthians 15:34).

Father, I declare that is coming progressively to

recognize, know and understand from observation and experience the time of his visitation from
You. (Luke 19:44).

Thank You, Father, that as Your Word is going forth over , it is

alive and full of power—making it active, operative, energizing and effective; it is sharper than
any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line between his soul and spirit, exposing,
sifting, analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of his heart. He is not concealed
from Your sight, but all things in his heart are open, exposed, naked and defenseless to Your
eyes. (Hebrews 4:12-13).

Father, I declare that is fearlessly, confidently and boldly

drawing near to Your throne of grace, that he may receive mercy for his failures and find grace to
help in good time for every need—appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when he
needs it. (Hebrews 4:16).

Father, I declare that is obeying his spiritual leaders and

submitting to them—continually recognizing their authority over him. He is doing his part to let
them watch over his soul with gladness, and not with sighing and groaning. (Hebrews 13:17).

Father, I declare that is exercising foresight and is on the

watch to see that he does not fall back from and fail to secure Your grace by allowing a root of
bitterness, resentment, rancor or hatred shoot forth and cause trouble and bitter torment, and the
many become defiled by it. Instead, he is letting all bitterness, indignation, wrath, passion, rage,
bad temper, resentment, anger, animosity, quarreling, brawling, clamor, contention, slander, evil-
speaking, abusive or blasphemous language be banished from him, along with all malice, spite,
ill will or baseness or any kind, and he has become useful, helpful and kind to all—
tenderhearted, compassionate, understanding, and loving-hearted—readily and freely forgiving
everyone as You have forgiven him. (Hebrews 12:15; Ephesians 4:31-32).

Father, I declare that does not insist on his own rights or

his own way. He is not self-seeking, touchy, fretful or resentful. He takes no account of the evil
done to him nor pays attention to a suffered wrong. He bears up under anything and everything
that comes, and he is ever ready to believe the best of every person. His hopes are fadeless under
all circumstances, and he endures everything without weakening. (I Corinthians 13:5, 7).

Thank You, Father, that as I pray Your Word over , I shall

see the fruit of the travail of my soul and be satisfied. (Isaiah 53:11).

Thank You, Father, that You are giving as a GIFT of Your

GRACE, the ABILITY to KEEP Your precepts, HEARING, RECEIVING, LOVING and
OBEYING them. (Psalm 119:56).

Thank You. Father, that You are replacing and restoring for ________________________ the
years that the locust have eaten. (Joel 2:25).

Father, Your Word says that a backslider in heart is filled with the fruit of his own ways.
Therefore, I declare that _________________________is filled with the fruit of his own ways,
and he is returning to You, so that You would heal him of all his backsliding. (Proverbs 14:14;
Hosea 6:1; Jeremiah 3:22 KJV).
Father, even though is presently an unbeliever, by faith, I
claim him for Your kingdom. I cover and remit every sin and ask You not to lay them to his
charge. I call forth the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the deep and intimate knowledge of
You, by having the eyes of his heart flooded with light, so that he can know and understand the
HOPE to which you have called him, and how rich is his inheritance in the saints, and so that he
can know and understand what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of
Your power in and for him. I declare that he is set apart, separated and withdrawn from heathen
contamination and affiliated with Christian people by his union with me, because I am
consecrated and set apart unto You. Therefore, our children are partakers in the Christian
covenant, and they are prepared for You, pure and clean. (John 20:23; Ephesians 1:17-19); I
Corinthians 7:14).

Father, I declare that the determination of ______________________’s way is NOT in

HIMSELF; it is NOT in HIM—no matter how STRONG he is—even at his very BEST—to
direct his own steps. But instead, according to Your Word, I declare that his steps are directed
and established by You. You delight in his way and You busy Yourself with his every step.
Even if he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for You grasp his hand in support and uphold
him. May Your face shine upon him and save him in Your loving-kindness and for Your
mercy’s sake. (Psalm 37:23-24; Psalm 31:16).

NOTE: When constructing a building, a scaffold is often needed to aid in the process of
completion. However, when the building is finished, the scaffold is no longer needed. These
scripture prayers are merely a scaffold. They are not the building itself. They are designed to
assist us in building the Word of God into our hearts, and teach us how to pray the Word in any
given situation. The more the Word of God is deposited within us, the more spontaneous our
prayers will become, as the Holy Spirit brings to our remembrance specific scriptures which
apply to the area upon which we are focusing. Once we have the mentality of praying the Word,
we will find that as we are reading the Word, many other scriptures will begin to “come alive”
for the purpose of prayer.
