Assignments for Semester 2 of 2013


Deadline for submission: Week 13 Assignment 1: Group of 2-3 students (Weightage: 10%)
Identify, describe and compare at least two of the major technologies and development environments of game programming. Justify the game development environment you would choose. (Minimum 2000 words)

Assignment 2: Individual (Weightage: 20%)


Design and code a 2D or 3D arcade, strategy, adventure or racing game to run in any software platform of your choice. Requirements: The game should consist of at least two levels and show the total score obtained and the game level and other relevant information on the HUD (Heads-up display).

You should submit together with the game a documentation consisting of the following: (a) The game title (b) Game story and plot introduction. 50% of marks will be awarded for applying appropriate programming techniques in the development of a working game and 20% for the documentation and 30% of marks will be awarded during presentation based on the design and fully working game.
