Did you know that humans have actually flown into the sky riding kites? Come and explore some fun facts about kites and learn the science behind them while creating your very own to fly!
Art with a Twist

Students ages 4 (by January 1, 2013) through completed 5th grade, currently taking part in a gifted and talented program in their school, or students who display above average achievement or potential in general intellectual ability, special academic aptitude, creative and productive thinking or in the area of the arts.

Travel Around the World in One Week You will embark on an exciting and entertaining vacation, traveling to five different places virtually all in one week! We will see how people live, what they do, what they eat, and much more as we use a variety of technology to explore the culture of different continents. Pack your bags and get ready for the vacation of a lifetime!

Registration
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis with priority given to those who register by May 30th deadline. All students should register for 2 courses at the grade level they are just now completing. Make two choices for each session. Every effort will be made to accommodate your first choice. Availability of courses is dependent on enrollment numbers. All classes have a limit on enrollment numbers so you are encouraged to register early. Scholarships are available for students who might not be able to attend due to financial circumstances. Contact the Site Coordinator for consideration. There is a $10.00 discount for a 3 family member. Withdrawal requests will be assessed a $10.00 penalty fee. No refunds will be made after the 1st class meeting.

Session A Kings and Queens Hear Ye, Hear Ye! You are invited to a royal gathering. Visit royalty in childrens literature, create a castle and eat tarts with the Queen of Hearts. You will be treated like a King or Queen and guaranteed to have a royal good time! WeirD SciencE Sticky goo and bubbly foam are a few results that may make you ask Why? or How? during this exciting science adventure. We will complete engaging hands-on experiments that go along with our daily stories. Get ready to be amazed! Session B At the Pond Come and explore all the wonders of a pond. Investigate fish, frogs, and water plants. Experiment with water and dive into exciting childrens literature.

Session A Its Raining Cats and Dogs
Travel through thunderstorms, tornadoes, and other weather topics as you complete a variety of experiments. See a volcano erupt and hear the sound of rain through a stick. Join us to become a weather expert. Session A

Chillin out with Penguins


Waddle on in for a fun educational time with penguins. Using top-rated childrens literature, we will learn about these fascinating birds. We will do science experiments, penguin crafts, and have black and white day. Busy penguins get awfully hungry so we will also enjoy Goldfish and penguin punch!

Be a scientist and predict, observe, and figure out why things are happening with some of your favorite candy! Watch as the Ss on Skittles float in water! Test out different candies to see how sour they really are! Build candy cars and make your own fizzy candy! Try to sink a marshmallow and see what all can happen to a Peep marshmallow! Get ready to be amazed by candy and science! Session B
