Annotated Bibliography Alice, Matthew. "What Is Brominated Vegetable Oil and Why Do Soda Companies Put It in Their Drinks?" San Diego Reader. San Diego Reader, 29 July 1999. Web. 11 Mar. 2013. This is a scientific research report on Brominated Vegetable Oil. This report goes into the chemical aspects of bromine, where it originated from, what its chemical matter consists of, and how its made. It also hits the big question of why this toxic chemical is being put into or Gatorade and sodas. It also explains a pig study and explains the negative aspects that the pigs experienced once they started consuming bromine. This is a viable source because its from a person who has obtained all their information from chemists and doctors in San Diego. I plan on using this information to expand on brominated vegetable oil and explain the chemical aspects of it. This will help to show people how toxic bromine really is and what bromine truly consists of. "Brominated Vegetable Oil." Nutrition 411 Where Health Professionals Go For Information. Nutrition 411, July 2011. Web. 11 Mar. 2013. This is a review on brominated vegetable oil from a credible nutrition website. What I really liked about this particular article is that it included all the items where Bromine is found. I want to include some of these items in my paper because I didnt even know that bromine was in a lot of these items such as toothpaste, mouthwash, and bakery goods. This will be a great way to educate my readers and show them that the FDA really needs to start making changes to their food additives. Bromine is harming us and not a lot of people know it and this article will be a great addition to my argument. "BVO Is Safe, So Removing Its Interim Status Is Not Necessary." Food Navigatorusa.com. USA, 29 Jan. 13. Web. 28 Feb. 13. This is an article review by a woman who is criticizing The Pepsi Company and its views on Brominated Vegetable Oil. I plan on using this article because it will allow me to show the corrupted views that Pepsi and other drink companies have on Brominated Vegetable oil. It is a viable source because it is from a famous food website, called Food Navigator.

Bukowski2 "Code of Federal Regulations Title 21." U.S. Food And Drug Administration Protecting And Promoting Your Health. FDA, 1 Apr. 2012. Web. 28 Feb. 2013. This is a chapter from the U.S Food and Drug Administration that shows the conditions in which the food additive brominated vegetable oil may be safely used in the United States. I plan on using this article because it approaches brominated vegetable oil in a positive way and states that it is okay to use as long as it follows the FDAs rules. This is a credible source because it is straight from the FDA and it will strengthen my argument by presenting a different view. "International Programme on Chemical Safety." Brominated Vegetable Oils: Toxicological Evaluation of Some Extraction Solvents and Certain Other Substances substances (FAO Nutrition Meetings Report Series No. 48A, WHO/FOOD ADD/70.39).14 (1970): . Web. 11 Mar. 2013. This is a review of brominated vegetable from the FAO/WHO expert committee on food additives that met in Geneva from June 24 through July 2, 1970. This expert evaluation consists of the short-term studies, acute toxicity, and biochemical aspects of brominated vegetable oil. It is a credible source because it is from the international program on chemical safety and food additive experts did the studies and evaluations. I plan on using this report because it will allow me to elaborate on the animal studies and show what the brominated vegetable oil did to the animals and how it could do the same to us. "The Psychosis-Inducing Beverage Ingredient You've Probably Never Heard Of." Mercola. Scientific American, 11 Jan. 2012. Web. 28 Feb. 2013. This is an article from the Mercola health website explaining what Brominated Vegetable oil is. I plan on using this article because it goes beyond the actual definition of Brominated Vegetable Oil and explains the dangers, health affects, products its in, alternatives, affect on our bodies, and why brominated vegetable is used. All of these aspects will add a scientific depth to my paper, especially to the part where I plan on discussing the health risks associated with Brominated Vegetable Oil. This source is viable because a doctor who is using his own thoughts and research as well as other evidence from Scientific American wrote the article.
