Tourist guide
Saint-Malo can be described as one of the walled port cities in Brittany within France's northwestern part on English Channel. Moreover, it's sub-prefecture with regards to Ille-et-Vilaine department. At the time of Middle Ages, Saint-Malo had figured in the list of fortified islands at mouth of Rance River; thereby having controlled not just estuary but open sea as well. Aleth's promontory fort, on the southern side of modern center in present -day Saint-Servan district; went on to command approaches to Rance prior to Romans. Population gets increased to around 200000 during summer tourist season. Including the suburbs, population is around 135000. In the year 1968, population almost doubled; thanks to merging of 3 communes: Parame, Saint-Servan, and Saint-Malo.
