World War II was big for the comic book. It promoted two visions of the time: New Deal-style social reform and WWII patriotism. The DC superhero comics tacitly stressed a common interest in public welfare and strong federal government. Marvel comics took up the cause of WWII in its creation of Captain America. After WWII, comic books lost readers and publishers because the lack of purpose, competition from television, as well as the cultural influence of the comic book industry, because of the influence of popular horror comic books. Spiderman Marvel Adventures is about a girl named Gwen how desires to become a journalist. She is intrigued the new talk of the town, Spiderman, and wishes to pursue on writing about him. Though she wasnt able to interview the man himself, she got all the insight she needed from the towns people. Some people view him as a protagonist while others see him as the antagonist. Gwens personal thoughts on Spiderman are that he is a hero. Her views are that his actions are justified while others just see him as up-tono-good rebel. The irony in the whole story is that Gwen tries so hard to get to know Spiderman when really she has been with him this whole time. Though, the person she knows isnt super at all but plain old Peter Parker, her best friend. Peter kept being Spider Man a secret from his best friend for a long time. Gwen had no idea of his secret. Throughout the comic, Spider Man was out saving the world but to everyone they just saw it as destroying all of the citys belongings. Except one day when he finally trapped the bad guy who ended up getting arrested. In conclusion, everyone realized Spidermans true intentions are good and he truly was a hero.
Personal Review While I was reading this comic I found myself very interested in it. I didnt realize how interested I was while reading until I caught myself with my jaw open. I liked the pictures and how the author wrote things out. I was very into the comic while reading it. There was never a part in the comic when I was bored or not interested in what was going on in the comic. It had very good flow.

I liked the way the author told the story and wrote things out. I also liked the pictures in the comic. They captured the mood and tone in the text very well. The illustrator who drew the pictures did a fantastic job telling the story without using words. The pictures helped me visualize everything that was happening throughout the comic. Pictures are very important in comics. If there arent good pictures then it isnt a good comic. That is my opinion of course. So overall I really enjoyed reading this comic.
