Child: Ali Date: September 2013 Written by: Teacher Natasha A big welcome back to An-Nur Ali, we missed

you while you were away with your broken arm. It is great to see you are still your cheerful confident self, and your arm has healed well. Since returning Ali, I have observed you initiating conversations with your peers, contributing during group sessions and always giggling whether outside playing a game or just sitting with new friends at meal time. Review of learning Ali I am very pleased to see you settle back quickly at An-Nur, this is important as it shows us your sense of belonging and well-being has developed greatly that even with a three week gap you can recognize the familiar and enjoy changes. Since you were absent Teacher Eunjoo has left and Teacher Ursula has joined us for the remainder of the year, however your confidence to express yourself and trust that your needs will be met with an unfamiliar face is evidence of how strong these learning dispositions are for you. I can also see you respond with wonderment and awe as well as communicate with clarity and precision with your friends. Where to next? Ali I want to continue to foster your enjoyment of learning, how you respond with wonderment and awe as you giggle with glee at how our amazing world works. I can see you are very socially inclined, and plan to offer a balance of small group sessions as well as free play time to allow you to further strengthen these emerging friendships. This will allow your knowledge to be scaffold through play while also gaining confidence in yourself as a teacher as well as a learner through your peers appreciating and respecting your own knowledge. These relationships will continue to become more meaningful, and at the same time offer plenty of opportunities for conversational language to further developing while extending your vocabulary. This is also

supported by your teachers modeling language, engaging you in meaningful conversations, giving dialogue and through songs/nasheeds and rhythms.
