    PATTERN STITCH

    What you will need:


    RED HEART Fiesta: 1 skein 6635 Coffee Susan Bates Circular Knitting Needles: 3.75 mm [US 5] 16 long Yarn needle, Stitch marker GAUGE: 16 sts = 4 [10 cm]; 10 rows = 4 [10 cm] in 2 x 2 Rib pattern. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needle to obtain the gauge.

    2x2 Rib Row 1 (Right Side): K2, p2. Row 2: Knit the Knit sts, and purl the Purl sts. Repeat rows 1-2.

    HAT

    Cast on 88 sts. Place marker, join being careful not to twist sts. Round 1: Work in 2x2 Rib stitch pattern until hat measures 6 [17 cm] from cast-on edge.

    This easy hat is perfect for knitting and giving to all the guys on your gift list. It is an easyto-fit rib pattern made in easy-care yarn.

    Shape Crown Round 1 (Dec): *K2, p2tog. Repeat from * around 66 sts. Rounds 2-7: *K2, p1. Repeat from * around 66 sts. Round 8: *K1, k2tog. Repeat from * around 44 sts. Rounds 9-14: Knit. Round 15: K2tog around 22 sts. Rounds 16-21: Knit. Round 22: K2tog around 11 sts.

    FINISHING

    Cut yarn leaving a 6 (15 cm) tail. With yarn needle, draw tail through remaining 11 sts twice, pull tightly and fasten off. Weave in ends. Block lightly and turn up brim on hat.
