Tips and Troubleshooting
- Make sure you have straight-line access to the canal.
- Be sure to use correct handpiece speed of 350 rpm.
- Follow the EndoMagic! Technique on the front of this card.
- Dont push too hard on the files. Let the files do the work.
- Use a gentle pecking motion with each file, advancing only
1mm at a time.
- Lubricate after each file.
- Immediately discard any file that begins to unwind.
- Use sonic handpiece where indicated, or any time a file
begins to bind.
- Always keep the file moving in or out of the canal.
- NiTi files are recommended for single use. Increased
usage can lead to metal fatigue.

Apex Locator Instructions
- Unit is powered on. Lip clip must be grounded in patients
mouth to avoid shocking.
- Do not attempt to determine working length prior to using
the #1 file.
- Use a stainless steel hand file for an accurate apex locator
reading. Hand files are easier to manipulate than NiTi.
We recommend using a 25mm hand file so that there is room
at the top to measure your tooth and mark the working length.
The #10, 25mm is the most popular.
- Canal needs to be lubricated for the apex locator to work.
Water, KY, Lube Juniors, Chlorhexidine, Sodium Hypochlorite,
Blood, etc., are all acceptable forms of lubrication.
- Pulp Chamber must be as dry as possible to ensure an
accurate reading.
- You want your working length to be 1mm away from the apex.
