A. Outlet Boxes

PART 3 – EXECUTION:
A. Provide all outlet boxes, pull boxes and hand holes as required for the installation.
B. Type - Outlet boxes concealed above ceilings shall be of the hot-dipped galvanized steel type
with required knockouts for raceway termination. Outlet boxes exposed on walls shall be of the
"feraloy" type having appropriate drilled and tapped hubs for raceway termination.
C. Size - In general, outlet boxes for Common Areas shall be minimum 4-inches square, 1-1/2
inches deep. Outlet boxes for use in apartment units shall be standard gem boxes. Dimensions
of outlet boxes shall be increased as required by code.
D. Special Requirements - The Contractor is cautioned to note where special types of outlets are
required and provide approved type of outlet boxes as required.
E. Pull Boxes - All pull boxes and junction boxes shall be furnished and installed as shown,
specified, or whenever required to facilitate ease of pulling wires or cables. Such boxes shall be
installed in accessible locations and such locations shall be approved by the Engineer. Pull
boxes shall be constructed of galvanized sheet steel, code gauge, except that not less than
12-gauge shall be used for any box.
1. Boxes shall be furnished with appropriate covers.
2. Pull boxes and junction boxes installation; pull boxes shall be installed where necessary in
approved locations as follows:
a. Where shown on plans or in runs with two right-angle bends, not over 75-feet apart.
