At the origin of time, there e'isted a serpent, $am)at)f, *he %ho has a##omplished his
time*. As his name indi#ates, this serpent #eased to e'ist %hen his time %as past. He had,
ho%e+er, a son, Ir)ta, *,reator of the Earth*. Ir)ta #ontinued the %or" of his father and
#reated the Eight -rimordials of Hermopolis, among %hom of #ourse %e find Amun, %ho
de#lares himself to !e the initial serpent, and Amonet. The genealogy is presented as
