This document outlines the topics and activities for a unit on being stranded on a desert island. In literacy, students will write stories and messages in bottles about being stranded alone. In maths, they will learn addition, subtraction, and measurement, linking it to distances around the world. In science, students will investigate animal species on desert islands, grouping and classifying them, and what humans and animals need to survive. It suggests books and library resources, as well as zoo visits, to learn more about animals. It includes optional challenges to research facts about chameleons or islands. Finally, it provides online resources for additional learning at home, including phonics and reading games.
