OBJECTIVES:
The student will be able to
a. Separate complementary and supplementary angles
b. Identify the angles complement or supplement
c. Create a supplementary or complementary angles using degrees given
d. Determine what occupations use angles
TEKS: MATH 7.6 A

MATERIALS:
Angle Review Sheet, YouTube Videos, Class set of IPADS, Whiteboard/Eno board, Missing
angle worksheets: Complement and Supplement, and Kahoot Angle Quiz.

HOOK:
Show YouTube Video on Angles ( 2.5 minutes)

CONNECTIONS:
The last couple days, we have been study the classifications of angles. Today, we will learn the last two
classifications complementary and supplementary. Can you think of any occupations that would use
angles? With your elbow buddy share your thoughts. Do any of your parents or guardians use angles at
work?
(5 minutes)

MINI LESSON: (20 minutes)
The teacher will show a Angle Review video.
The student will fill in the Angle Review Sheet while watching the video.
The teacher will show example and discuss complementary angles.
The students will look at some examples and determine how to find its complement.
The teacher will show example and discuss supplementary angles.
The students will look at some examples and determine how to find its supplement.
The teacher will again explain the importance of angles and show YouTube Video.
The students will discuss with their elbow buddy which trick they liked the best.
The teacher will return to the Angle Review Sheet and go over the answers.
The students will work assigned problems on independent worksheet.
The class will use the IPADS to take a pre-test.

HIGHER LEVEL QUESTIONS:
Why is it important to know angles?
Identify complementary and supplementary angles in the room.

EVALUATION: (15 minutes)
Student must separate complementary and supplementary angles on post-test with 90% mastery.
Student must identify angles complement and supplement on independent worksheet with 90% mastery.

MODIFICATIONS:
Students with modifications will complete the post-test with 70% mastery.
Students with modifications will be assigned a partner to work with during independent work.
Gifted students will create their own complementary and supplementary angles.
Gifted students will do research on occupations that use angles and write a reflection.

ANALYZE:
Reflect on how the students responded to the lesson.
Indentify the students who are still struggling.
