Introduction Letter- During the first week of school I will send home a letter
to my students parents or guardians. This letter will contain a brief
description of my personal interest outside of school, as well as my
qualifications to teach. I will also give parents my outlook on education and
let them know that I am excited to foster learning for their students.

Monthly News Letters- Each month a classroom newsletter will go home

with the students homework folders. The newsletter will include important
dates, student of the month column, teacher contact information, thank you
shout outs, and any other information that would pertain to the classroom
for that month.

Parent Conferences- Each month I will designate a week for scheduling

conferences with my students parents. These would be great for updating

the students parents on any behavior or academic issues with the student.
Positive feedback can be given as well during the conference including any
progress the student has made since the begging of the year.

Communication/Collaboration with Colleagues

Community Letter- During specific units or school events that require

participation in the community, such as Career day, I will write a letter to
several community members including the police department, fire
department, and local healthcare offices. This letter will provide an invitation
to the receiver to join our class on a determined date, and ask that they give a
presentation about their career.

Grade Level Meeting- Each week a grade level meeting will take place with
my fellow grade level teachers and myself. During this meeting we will
discuss lesson plans for the week to come, testing, and any school events or
field trips.

Email with Grade Level Teachers- Communication with ones grade level
colleagues is imperative for a cohesive teaching and working environment.
Through email communication a number of topics can be addressed
including lesson planning, meetings, special programing, and field trips.

Team Email to Grade Level Teachers (To be copied to the Principal)

Hello Fourth Grade Teachers,

As you all know our annual field trip to the zoo is coming up next month, and
it is time to start finalizing details. I would like each of you to choose one of the
following items from the bulleted list and make it your task to complete. Please
respond to this email with your choice.

Scheduling buses and lunch for the trip

Create, distribute, and collect the fieldtrip permission slips

Securing parent chaperones

Scheduling zoo visit and collecting money

The students look forward to this field trip each year, and I know it will be
successful as always. If anyone has any questions or concerns please feel free to
contact me!
Thanks,
Ms. Paige Lane
