I decided to organize navies by battleships, armored cruisers, light/protected cruisers,
and torpedo boats/destroyers. Ironclads will fall under the battleships category. I will mark ironclads where appropriate; you can do what you like with this information. It should be noted that destroyers (as they were known by WWI) did not exist at this time (except perhaps for a few already in service with the Royal Navy). Torpedo boats will in a few years morph into larger and better armed torpedo boat destroyers, which will then make the final step to destroyer around the late 1890s.
