CTLS: Session 2

Where do I find SLO Pre-Test Data?

We are going to watch a short video, which demonstrates how to use the Student Performance
tool and Data Analysis tool in CTLS. The link to this video can be found below and also in the
Teacher Area of our Course Blog. You will need to use your Cobb County Username and
Password to access the video.

1. After logging in at http://ctls.cobbk12.org, look to the bottom right where it says Student
Performance.
2. The Data Analysis Module has the results of each of your SLO Pre-Tests for all of your
students.
3. The score will be displayed to the left of the title of the SLO Pre-Test. Click on the score,
and then select the View Performance Analysis option that appears below.
4. You can view the data by all students you teach, by class period, or by a custom group of
students. We will start out viewing the data by all the students we teach.
5. Once youve selected teacher, you will see several tabs. Click on the standard tab to view
the different Standards that we cover in our classes and are covered on the SLO Pre-Test.
6. Now, we are going to spend some time looking at how our students did on each of the
standards. Select the check box next to the first standard. Once you select the standard,
you will see a student tab appear on the right hand side of the screen. The tabs will be
broken down into students who have exceeded expectations, those who have met
expectations, and those who are performing below expectations. This is a great tool you
can use to differentiate your instruction and provide remediation once we upload our
assessments into CTLS starting next year.
7. For the remainder of this session, we are going to look at each of the questions and
determine which of them our students had the most trouble with. The results from my
classes will be on the PowerPoint.
8. Select the Question Items Tab. This will give an idea of how students did on each
question. For example, if you look at the overhead, only three of my students missed the
first question, but several missed the second question and third questions. The shaded
answers in the report are the correct answer and the colors correspond with greatest areas

of concern with green being areas of least concern, yellow being moderate levels of
concern, and red being a high level of concern.
9. Spend time during the remainder of the session and become familiar with and make note
of specific questions students in your classes missed. In our final session tomorrow, we
will analyze each of the questions broken down by standards to determine areas our
students need the most support and develop a plan to ensure their needs are met.
