To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to you in support of Mrs. Alaina Ellison and her desire to attain a position as
an educational administrator. When Mrs. Ellison spoke to me of her interest in the
position and shared the position posting with me, I immediately recognized that her
exceptional preparation, professionalism, data gathering/ analysis, consultation skills, and
political acumen would help her perform the listed job duties effectively.
As a school psychologist at Jackson ISD, I work with many teachers and administrators
with widely varied levels of skill and competency. During my seventeen years in
education, I would describe very few of the teachers with whom I have worked as truly
exceptional in all facets of the job, and those who have truly impressed me have, with
only one exception, been veteran teachers. Mrs. Ellison is the exception. She possesses a
remarkable ability to rapidly learn, embrace, and apply the latest research and
methodologies to improve not only the caliber of her own instruction, but to serve in a
systems change capacity, guiding her veteran peers to make data-based decisions and to
apply research-based best practices. Mrs. Ellisons analytical skills and ability to grasp
new ideas are far above those of her co-workers, yet she relates her knowledge to her
peers in an affable, non-threatening manner that is conducive to positive outcomes for
students.
Mrs. Ellisons willingness and ability to take on and excel in additional responsibilities
has reinforced the observations made earlier. In addition to changing students lives for
the better individually, Mrs. Ellison has completed the ISDs SELCT program, applied
what she has learned to her class and taught her colleagues, become a trainer for the
Statewide Autism Resources and Training program, presenting difficult subject matter
such as functional behavioral analysis and the practical use of and application of
accommodations and modifications, and served on the student assistance teams. It is my
opinion that Mrs. Ellison would make an excellent addition to your administrative team.
She is fiercely intelligent and diligent, she has a passion for learning and doing what is
best for children, and she relates well to her colleagues. She uses data to make decisions,

and she is able to navigate the political landscape with surprising facility for someone
that has been in the field for only a few years.
Mrs. Ellison continues to impress me with her knowledge, skill, and dedication to her
work. Im sure you will find her to be an exceptional staff member, though I am reluctant
to lose her invaluable contributions to her current district. It is my sincerest hope that you
will allow her to put her considerable skills to use for JCISD in an administrator capacity.
