Boyles Law

By: Noe B. Arnoldo A. and Luis H.

Boyles Law
Boyles Law states that for a fixed amount of an ideal gas kept at a
fixed temperature, pressure and volume are inversely proportional.
Or Boyle's law is a gas law, stating that the pressure and volume of
a gas have an inverse relationship, when temperature is held
constant. Which means that the pressure and gas are linked for
example that more pressure on the gas the more condense it
becomes.

History

Robert Boyle (1627-1691) was an Irish-born gentleman

philosopher who did research and investigation in physics,
chemistry, alchemy, and theology. Boyle concentrated intently
on the quiet study of science, rather than the wealth or praise
he could have attained from his studies. Boyle is known as the
founder of modern chemistry because he believed in the
intrinsic value of chemistry, developed the rigorous
experimental scientific method, and defined the element. Boyle
proved his law for both great and small pressures, using the
now-famous Mercury U-Tube experiment. Boyle's study of gases
also helped lead to the development of atomic theory. He, along
with others in his time, discussed the role of distinct
"corpuscles" in the application of his Law. He published what is

Importance
Boyle's law gives us important information about the behavior of
gases.
The law is constantly at work in our daily lives for example: scuba
diving, Inflating or deflating a balloon , Breathing, Popping a
bubble gum /balloon, Change of pressure in a syringe, Increase in
size of bubbles as they rise to the surface, Death of deep sea
creatures due to change in pressure, Popping of ears at high
altitude
Its also the science behind plane travel
