Teaching the Respiratory System to 3rd Graders

This lesson plan is for a 3rd grade science class about the respiratory system. It is designed to be taught over 1 class period in the fall term. The objectives are for students to be able to identify the organs of the respiratory system and state the function of each organ. To do this, the teacher will have students inflate balloons to feel their breathing and link this to a diagram of the respiratory system organs. They will then label the organs on a diagram and write the function of each.
