    Essential Question: What does Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex have to teach us about how to respond to
    necessity?

    For each quotation that you find, come up with some analysis or a question that you could ask
    about the quotation that would help the group in its exploration of the Assigned Question and the
    Essential Question above.

    1. Assigned question: How do characters other than Oedipus speak about and respond to
    necessity? Find quotations by Creon, Teiresias, and Iocasta that indicate either how they
    deal with necessity or how they think others should deal with it.
