    Technology Innovation

    Company launched advanced K series engine which are in compliance with future emission norms.

    The K-series engines were first introduced in India in 2008 in compact car A-Star.

    The series also power alternate fuel (CNG and LPG) vehicles offered by the company besides popular compact
    sedan DZire and multi purpose vehicle Ertiga.

    Maruti Suzuki will introduce Idling-Stop technology in hatchback segment in India to improve fuel efficiency and
    will reduce the amount of time the engine spend idling

    Wagon R is likely to be the first model to get the Idling-stop technology in the country and the system will help
    the model to get an improved mileage of about 2-3kmpl than the current offering.

    Maruti launching new technologies like booster jet engine and SHVS mild hybrid to boost fuel efficiency

    The technology is expected to be deployed in the forthcoming car like iK-2 and iM-4 cars

    Introduction of SmartPlay system includes 7-inch TFT touchscreen display, integrated navigation with voice
    commands, voice recognition and USB, Aux and Bluetooth connectivity.

    Maruti's SX4 S-Cross, premium hatchback YRA and compact SUV YBA are expected to come with the
    SmartPlay system.

    Other initiatives include changes in engine hardware to improve thermal efficiency, changes in engine calibration
    and reducing frictional losses

    This provides advantage in terms of reduction of carbon monoxide and vehicle fuel economy
    Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL), sold a total of 62,996 factory-fitted CNG vehicles in FY 2014-15, a 23-per cent rise over
    the previous year.
