Well this story as a part of the theme helps us understand "Employment
Relations" in the context of Intellectual Property Rights and Non- compete
agreements and raises the issue of poorly drafted norms and conditions which can create problems for the employee as well as for the company . This narration was related to the theme as it was able to teach us the concepts of unity of ownership of the Intellectual Property Rights and make us understand the importance of a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding agreement. This again is a part of the theme which is dealing with the various terms and conditions of "Work for Hire" clause. The similarity is that through our narration we are all trying to understand Employment Relations in the dynamics of individual and organizational relationship in a liberalizing, global environment. However, we all are dealing with specific cases or stories which covers different aspects of Employment Relations . The reaction from the class was encouraging. First of all, they were paying full attention to my story narration and even after I finished narrating they were attentive during my Q&A session with Ganesh sir. The feedback from Ganesh sir was that it was a good narration after which he immediately started asking questions based on my story narration to which I answered to the best of my knowledge. He also asked me the moral of the story in one sentence. If given a chance to narrate the same story . I would narrate the story from the point of view of Satyam as well as Upaid and try to bring in perspectives from both sides .I would divulge into the issues these companies may have faced during the whole case.
