A data dictionary stores metadata, or data about data, including definitions of records, data items, and other database objects. It exists in two types - active dictionaries update automatically with database changes while passive dictionaries require manual updates. DEFINITION
Data dictionary stores information about the
data in the database.
Data dictionary is the data structure that stores
meta data.

Data about data.
Definition of records, data items and other
