Re: motor vehicle accident involving
vehicle belonging to Patric Dias
We write to you on behalf of our client, Patric Dias, whose vehicle was involved in a motor accident with one of trucks belonging to your company. It is our client's story that motor vehicle registration number MH 5085/MH 4523 was travelling past Tembo Village and when the driver of the said truck attempted to avoid a pothole, he lost control of the truck, causing the truck to swerve and hit motor vehicle registration number KA 3463 which belongs to our client. The accident caused extensive damage to our client's vehicle, and given the fact our client has got no insurance, this accident has been of extreme inconvenience to him. After having the damage of our client's motor vehicle professionally assessed, it was revealed that the car was totalled and was beyond repair. In light of the above, we request that you pay our client the sum of MK 2.2 million( two million two hundred thousand Malawi Kwacha) to replace the vehicle of his which was totalled. We also need to bring to light that as a result of the accident our client has had to rent a vehicle daily at the rate of MK15,000( Fifteen thousand Malawi Kwacha) and such has been the case since the following day of the accident which took place on 23/05/2014. Therefore we also ask that you pay our client the sum of money which he has used to rent a vehicle from the day after the accident took place to present day, including Mk 15,000 for each additional day after you receive this letter and have not compensated our client. Below is a calculation of the amount owed: 24 May- 31 May 2014 15,000 X 8 = 120,000
1 June - 30 June 2014
15,000 X 30 = 450,000 1 July - 31 July 2014 15,000 X 31 = 465,000 1 August - 31 August 2014 15,000 X 31 = 465,000 1 September - 30 September 2014 15,000 X 30 = 450,000 1 October - 31 October 2014 15,000 X 31 = 465,000 1 November- 30 November 2014 15,000 X 30 = 450,000 1 December - 31 December 2014 15,000 X 31 = 465,000 1 January - 31 January 2015 15,000 X 31 = 465,000 1 February - 28 February 2015 15,000 X 28 = 420, 000 March 1 - March 31 2015 15,000 X 31 = 465,000 1 April- 30 April 2015 15,000 X 30 = 450,000 1 May - Present
15,000 X 7 = 105,000 ( 15,000 to be added from this point
onwards for each additional day) Total amount owed at date of this letter: Mk 5,250 000( Five million two hundred and twenty five thousand Malawi Kwacha) + MK15,000 for each additional day after this letter was received and our client has not yet been compensated.
