    Philippines and Japan are trying to make their ties stronger from the recent 4days state visit of President Aquino in Japan last June 2015. They strengthen their
    partnership by holding military exercises that would allow Japanese soldiers to train in
    the countrys military bases. Japan also plans to improve the infrastructure of the
    Philippines which would help boost transportation and business. 1 (Parameswaran,
    2015)
    But what is the role of the youth to the consolidating the relationship between the
    two countries?
    Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan. (The youth is the hope of the people).
    This was a famous line from the Philippines National Hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal. Its wellknown line that has been passed through ages from the tongue of every Filipino people.
    Youth is capable of observing adults actions and learning from it. As what they were
    observing from both government actions, they can adopt the strengthening of the
    relationship between Japan and Philippines.
    Youth can help strengthening partnership through activities such as exchange
    programs. Through exchange programs, they learn the culture, history, government and
    people of each others country which is essential in firming the bond. By learning these
    things, it would be easy to learn their language which is important in building a
    relationship. Youths mind is like a fertile soil in which the country can take care of and
    grew bountiful trees. Through their eager minds with a hunger for knowledge, they can
    easily learn everything they need to know about Japan.
    Both governments are trying their best in strengthening their relationship. But
    their efforts would put into vain if they will not involve the youth. Youth is the dreamers of
    tomorrow, as what Mata Amritanandamayi said If our youth arise and act, they
    have the strength and dynamism to generate huge transformation in society.
