RATIONALE:
The current problem on plastic wastes is
daunting, and even becomes worse. While it is
still unknown how extensive the danger plastic
pollution may bring, Roland Geyer, who was a
co-author of the cited plastic pollution study,
proposes that the only solution is turning off
the tap.
According to a recent study published at
the journal Science (2015), the Philippines was
the third largest contributor in polluting the
oceans with plastic. The study estimates that
around 4.7 12.7 million tons of plastic ends up
in oceans worldwide, 8 million tons being the
best estimate. Plastic pollution over the seas is a
real threat to marine biodiversity. It also poses
danger to humans who consume fish that might
have eaten plastic debris.
The researchers propose a solution to
make an item good for mainstream consumption
to lessen, if not completely eradicate, this
problem. With this proposal, recycling may get
widespread attention and be taken seriously.

PRODUCT FEASIBILITY:
What makes our venture innovative is the
up-cycling of plastic bottles to produce purses,
cases, and bags which is a new method of
production. The up-cycling process sees to it
that the products we are making are not to be
sold as reshaped trash but as quality products
that satisfy customer needs. Our idea of using
plastic bottles in purse-making is a first time in
the industry. It is also a great way to cut costs in
making bags, purses, or cases. Additionally, it
promotes social responsibility as it advocates
care for the environment
