Counseling is a definitely structured, permissive relationship

which allows the client to gain an understnding of himself to a degrre
which enables him to take positive steps in the light of his new
situation.

Being a third year Education student, one of the professional

subject that you need to take is the Guidance and Counseling (Educ
307). Guidance and counseling are concepts that have existed as far
as the beginning of society. Guidance is a form of teaching that anyone
can avail of anytime, a lifelong process and should be positive and
preventive
rather than curative.While counseling is not a single
activity, it is helping relationship that is aimed at helping clients

become well-adjusted, inner-motivated and self-actualized persons that
they are meant to be.
As part of this subject, one of the requirments that you need to
do is counseling and guiding
first year students that taking up of
Pschology subject. Our teacher in Guidance and Counseling subject, Mr.

Samuel G. Comia assigned the student to us that we need to
counsel.The assigned students to me are Jessel Angelou Libre of BSED
1103 and Kimberly L. Bien of BEED 1101. In the first place, I was
curious to the two of them, who they are and what are their
personalities and attitude. I search their names in social networking
sites which is facebook but their was no result found. One time, I asked
my former classmate last 2nd year if she know Jessel Angelou or
Kimberly and luckily she knows Jessel Angelou
only because it was her claasmate. I got Jessel Angelous number.

I texted the number that was given to me but she cant replied to my
text. Few days ago, she replied me and she said that shes not Jessel
Angelou, so I texted my former classmate and she apologize to me
because the number that she was given to me was wrong. I said to her
that it was okay and I thanked her even though it was wrong number.
One day, I saw a first year student and I asked her if she know
Jessel Angelou or Kimberly and luckily again, Jessel Angelou was her
classmates. I asked permission to her to get the number and she gave
it to me. I texted her and luckily she replied me that shes Jessel
Angelou Cubero. We texted and of course, I introduced myself to her

and I said to her that Im her counselor and shes my counselee. On the
other hand, I cant find Kimberly Bien, one day I saw a first year
students and I asked her if she know Kimberly Bien and she know her.I
get the pnone number of Ms. Kimberly Bien and I texted her. Luckily,
she replied me and of course I introduced myself to her. I also said to
her that Im her counselor and shes my counselee that given by Sir
Comia. I also get their schedule so that I know the time when they are
vacant.
Kimberly Bien was the first one that I met. I went to their
classroom and I excused her to personally introduced myself to her. I
reminded her to bring her project in pschology which was all about
herself and her personal life.
The next time that we I dont know the exact date but it was
already Tuesday. I went to her room in NB 104 to picked up her and we
went to the kubo. At first, I introduced myself to her by saying my
name, all about myself and my personal life. Then, our conversation
starts. I know that shes embarassed to me, maybe because that was
the first that we met each other. We start our conversation by asking
all about herself.Her fullname was Kimberly Latag Bien and shes 17
years of age. She lived in Namunga, Rosario, Batangas and her
birthday was July 13, 1998. Shes the only daughter of Mrs. Jocelyn L.
Bien and Mr. Samson D. Bien. Her hobbies are dancing and using social
media which is the Facebook or FB. She took her Elementary years in
Masaya Elementary School, she graduated year 2011 and she awarded
Best in Character. While her high school years took in Padre Vicente
Garcia Memorial Academy and she get her diploma year 2016. She
lived with her grandmother because her mother was an OFW. When I
asked about her father she said that wala, hindi ko kilala, that words
were marked on my mind. She said that shes only one year old when
her father and her mother was separated. She didnt know about her
father and even face of her father and she only knew her fathers
name. And when I asked her why she didnt asked to her mother about
her father she said that hindi naman kami close eh. I asked her about
her mother, she said that when her father abandoned them, her
mother were sacrifice to work on abroad so that her mother support
her basic needs and her education. When I asked her why shes not
closed to her mother, she said that maybe because shes not with me
and shes far from us. The last time that her mother was with them is
when she graduate her high school years. Shes very closed to her
grandmother maybe because it act as her mother when her mother
was not there and also as father. I asked her one question about her
father and that is Bakit hindi mo hanapin at sabihin mo na ako po
yung anak ninyo kay Inay Jocelyn o kaya ay magpakilala ka sa kanya?,
and she said to me that no need at wag na po, hindi na kailangan. I
advice to her that she must love her mother and Lola because its her
family even though her father was not there. I also asked her if was
there any problem about her study and she said that shes
naninibago when it comes to college days and to the subjects taken
in college from high school years.
I asked her if Education or being a teacher someday was her first
choice and according to her, her dreams in life was to pursue her study
and to become a elementary teacher someday, to teach and to inspire
others. I also said to her that Im here just text me or said to me if she
have problems that may encounter or she need a friend.
Over all, Kimberly was a good daughter that needs love from her
parents and wish to have a complete family someday.

My another counselee was Jessel Angelou Libre. She lived in San

Miguel, Padre Garcia, Batangas. Shes 17 years of age and her birthday
was on December 11, 1997. Her parents were Leslie Libre and Jesus
Cubero. Her mothers bussiness was peryahan and her father was a
Barangay Councilor of San Miguel. Her parents was separated due to
some problems. She had 2 sister and 2 brother, her 2 sister and one
brother was her kapatid sa ina and only her and her 1 brother was
real siblings and her brother was a Grade 9 Student in PGNH. She lived
in apartment in San Miguel with her brother and she said that they
were not close of her mother. The mother of her mother or her
grandmother was the one who give the financial assistance but
sometimes her father was the one who give. His father was the one
who support her studies. And some of our conversation was between
me and her. Her hobbies was watching television, surfing the net and
hang out with her friends. She said that Daniel Padilla was her super
duper idol.
Her elementary years was in Talisay Elementary School and she
graduated year 2010 and her high school years was taken in Padre
Garcia National High School and graduated year 2014.And now in
college she taking Bachelor of Secondary Education. According to her,
education was not her first choice and AB Pschology was the one that
she want. Her father want education for her and their was a
scholarship that may fit to her because her father was a Barangay
Councilor. But she also said that Education student was also happy.
Some of her achievements were: during Grade 1-5 she is an
achiever, when she was third year student, she was awarded for the
most outstanding student in their class and when shes fourth year
student
she
was
the
president
of
PLUMATEK
for
the
Filipino
Organization.
When I asked her if she had problems, she said none but she
narrate to me all about her family and the situation of their family. And
when I asked about her study, she said its okay and shes happy in her
study. I also asked her about her lovelife and she said that she have no
boyfriend but she had 4 past relationship or ex- boyfriend. And of
course, I said to her that she must study and pursue her dreams in life
someday.
Her happiest and unforgettable moment was when her whole

family went to an outing and according to her it was happy. I asked her
when was that and she said that when Im elementary years and that
was the last time that they complete due to some reasons. While the
saddest moment in her life was when her Uncle died.
Her dreams in life is to become a successful woman someday, to
reach her goals and to help her parents especially to her father. And
her inspiration in her life was her family especially her beloved parents.
Her motto in her life was Time flies when your having fun.
Im happy that weve had a good and happy conversation and I
know now more about her bacause she was open to me ang share
about her life to me and also I know that she trust me.
I advice to her that she must pursue ger study and pursue her
dreams in life. And Im here when she want a FRIEND or Ate that can
share problems or about her family and study.
I thanked to the two of them, in sharing about their personal life,
study and even in their personal life. I said to them that Im here as
friend and Ate for them. Just text me and Ill be there. I learn more
about having a complete family, pursuing my study and to become a
teacher someday and help my parents especially my loving mother.
