Weekly Journals
Week 1:
Sunday: 4th October 2015
On Sunday 4th of October it was my first day in the teaching practice. I arrived in the
kindergarten at 7:30, when I entered the kg I met my MST I greeted her and she told
me that she's my MST and I went to the classroom, there were some students I
greeted them and u help my mst by looking over the students because she had to
look over the students who come by buses. I stayed at the classroom with the
students and I made sure they put their pictures on the attendance panel and stay
still on their places at the circle until the teacher came, after that the teacher
greeted the students and she asked them to make a line to go to the assembly.
When we came from the assembly my mst took attendance and she read Quran
with the students and then they sang the week days song. After the circle time the
students went to the playground for 40 minutes and then they washed their hands
to eat their breakfast in the cafeteria. After they finished their meal they had circle
time again and in this class the teacher reviewed for them the words they took in
the previous weeks. The teacher asked the students to close their eyes and tell her
what they can see, she started to listen to each student's imagination and she asked
them questions and praised the students who listened to her instructions by giving
them the golden card. When she finished listening to her she asked them to go to
the areas in pairs without running and making noise and in the areas they started to
discover and create new things and when they are curious about anything they
immediately ask the teacher about it and she explain it to them. After the areas they
had Quran class with the Quran teacher so I went to the teachers' room with my mst
and we had a meeting about what the students take in this semester and how she
teaches them and the curriculum. The last thing they do in the day is eating their
lunch and the teacher checks who did the homework and who didn't then she gives
them the new homework. after making sure that all the students took their
homework they go to the bus stop and wait for their buses to come, when the
students left I had a meeting with the principle, my mst and the kg2's English
teacher and we discussed how I'll be attending the classes with them then I went
home at 1:15.
Monday: 5th October 2015
As Sunday I went to the kindergarten at 7:30 and I greeted my mst and the English
teacher. After the students arrived they did the daily routine which is putting their
pictures in the attendance panel, greeting the teacher, getting ready for the
assembly and singing the national anthem at the assembly and do morning
exercises. In the assembly the students gave their teacher gifts and flowers because

it was the teacher's day. After this they went to the classroom and the teacher did
the same things she do in the morning circle before going to the playground which
are choosing her assistant, taking attendance, reading Quran, singing the week days
song. After the playground and breakfast, they had a lesson about human body the
teacher started the lesson by doing a simple activity which is puzzle then she started
to explain to them the human body and to make sure they understand she gave
them different shapes and asked them to make groups and make a doll by using the
shapes they had. After this activity they went to play in the areas and then they had
Quran class then they went to eat their lunch afterward the students had the last
meeting with the teacher then they went home after taking their homework. When
the students left I had a meeting with my mst and she explained to me the math
lesson plan and which numbers they will take in each them and we discussed what
number I'll teach the students in the next week, then I went home at 1:10.
Tuesday: 6th October 2015
On my third day at the kindergarten I arrived at 7:30 as always. After the daily
routine the teacher completed her lesson which is human body she started the
lesson by asking the students about the five senses then she sang with them a song
about the five senses. When they finished the song the teacher showed them a story
about two girls on the smart board then she asked them questions about it to check
who were buying attention and who weren't. The teacher brought 5 chairs to the
circle and she put on each chair a face then the students' run around it when they sit
on the chairs they had to copy the face on their chair for example if the students sat
on the chair with the happy face he should act happy and smile and if the child sat
on the chair with the sad face he should act sad. After the chairs activity they had to
catch faces from the box and put it on the chair that had the same face. After that
the teacher went out because she had a meeting with the principle and she asked
me to sit with the students and play with them, so I played with them until the
teacher arrived and she completed the games with them. On the areas the teacher
let a group of the students set with the education technology student who came to
train in the kindergarten and learn how to use the iPad and learn some alp habet on
it. Then they had Quran class, lunch and last meeting class and they went home
after taking the homework and the teacher check their previous homework. I had a
meeting with the English teacher to discuss which days I'll be attending her classes
and when I'll teach the students and she told me about what she teaches and why
they don't teach students the alphabet in order form A to Z and she told me a little
things about the phonics, then she told me about her routine and the way she
teaches the students. After the meeting I left the kindergarten at 1:15.
Wednesday: 7th October 2015

On Wednesday I arrived at 7:30 and I greeted my MST then she asked me to help her
putting papers for the students on the table, then the teacher told me that we will
go with the students to the hospital for checkups. Before the assembly the students
brought some food and candies with the color red because they had red day at the
kindergarten and all of the students were wearing red clothes. After the daily
routine the teacher explained to them math lesson about number 1 and she gave
them an activity after that we went to the hospital at 9:15 and the students had
checkups until 11. We arrived at the kindergarten at 11:20 the students went to eat
their breakfast because they didn't eat anything from the moment they arrived to
the kindergarten until they came back from the hospital and in the bus the students
were crying because they were hungry and tired. After eating their meal the
students went to the classroom and they started to distribute the gifts and the fruits
they brought for their classmates. The teacher asked the students who want to eat
their fruit to sit on their places in the table and eat after they finished they brought
their bags to the teacher to check their homework and give them the math
homework. When they finished the principle brought the lady in red doll for the
students because its the red day and the students greeted her and take photos with
her. After taking the students to the bus stop I had a meeting with my mst to discuss
the math lesson I'll teach the next week and she gave me a plan sheet to check what
she did and what I need to do and complete the in next lesson. After the meeting I
left the kindergarten at 1:10.
Week 2:
Sunday: 11th October 2015
I arrived at the school at 7:25 and I greeted the teachers who were there. The
teacher had buses duty so I had to look over the students at the classroom. After all
the students arrived the teacher came to the classroom and she greeted the
students then she asked me to help her put some plates and papers for the students
on the tables. After I finished helping her I went to the assembly with the students
and the teacher. Then when they came back to the classroom the teacher took
attendance then she showed the students a ppt on the smart board about the five
senses and she explained each sense. The teacher asked the students to work on
pairs in the plate's activity which is putting the pictures with the right sense we use
the thing with for example "they have a bell picture they have to put it with the ear
picture because we hear the bell ring by our ear" after the plate activity the students
had a worksheet to do in the classroom. When they finished the first paper of the
worksheet they went to the playground then they had their breakfast. During the
second half of the playground I had a duty to look over kg2 students while they're
playing. After the playground I went to the classroom with my students and MST.
The teacher asked me to do homework with ten students to check their fine motor

skills. After the homework the teacher did some work with the students then they
had areas time. During the areas time I looked over the students with my MST and
we helped students when they needed help. When the areas time finished the
teacher asked the students to tidy up then go to the circle and she sang a song and
counted to 10 to give students time to clean their places. When the students sat on
the circle she asked the boys to stand on a line to help her walk around the
classroom and check if the areas are clean or not and if they're not clean the boys
help the teacher to clean the areas and put everything on its right place. When they
finished cleaning they went to the circle quietly and they were walking carefully
without running. The teacher turned the smart board on and she put the CD on the
computer and she put some cognitive games for the students. When the teacher
finished the games she brought a story and read it for the students, when she
finished reading she asked one of the students to come to her place and read the
story for his classmates. When they finished the story the teacher asked the boys to
bring their bags to give them their homework then when the boys finished the girls
made a line and brought their bags. When they finished taking their homework they
went to the cafeteria to eat fruits then they went to the buses and I left the kg at
1:00.
Monday: 12th October 2015
On the second day of the week I arrived at the kindergarten at 7:30 and I help my
MST preparing for the lesson, then my MST asked me to help her highlight some
papers then put other papers on the papers cover to put them on the file later. The
students went to the see the bus outside with the teacher then when they came
back they went to the playground, during this time t had a meeting with my MST
about the lesson I'll teach on Tuesday. I stayed with the students in the cafeteria
while they're eating their breakfast because their teacher had to do some work.
Then I stayed with the students for almost 10 minutes on the circle because the
teacher came late and during these 10 minutes I had conversation with the students
and I listened to the stories they were telling me until the teacher came to the
classroom. The teacher brought a baby doll for the lesson which is about being clean
and she taught the students that they should stay clean and she showed them the
way to shower the baby. By showing the students how to shower the baby she
taught them that they should be clean all the time and take shower before going to
bed also she taught them how to keep their bodies clean. The teacher brought some
cleaning materials like tissues and sterilizer for the students and she gave it to them.
The teacher sang for the students to go to the areas. During the areas time I took
some students and they did some challenging games and these games have
different levels and I wrote what level they have achieved and which levels they
could not do, this game help students develop their cognitive skills. After tidying up
the areas time the students went to the cafeteria and had apples. When they

returned to the classroom the teacher checked their homework then they went to
the buses at 12:45 and I left the school at 1:00.
Tuesday: 13th October 2015
I arrived at the kindergarten at 7:25 and I started to prepare for my math lesson
which is about number 2. At 7:35 my MST arrived and she helped me to arrange the
classroom then after view minutes the students arrived and they put their bags on
their places and put their pictures on the attendance board and they sat on the
circle. When all the students arrived the teacher asked them to make a line to go to
the assembly. After the assembly I sat on the circle with the students and I did the
daily routine which is greeting, choosing the assistant and change the day of the
week card. After the daily routine I started the lesson by reviewing number one with
the students then I gave them a basket that have different numbers and I asked
each student to take number on and show it to their classmates, also I did a small
activity which is the chairs game but this time I choose two students every time and
I brought one chair and I asked them to walk around it and both of them should sit
on the chair and if they didn't cooperate to sit on the chair together both of them
lose on the game. Then I asked the students how many students were playing every
time they played and they answered me 2 students then I told them that the lesson
will be about number two and I showed them objects that demonstrate number two
then I showed them number two and I asked them to write number two on the air
using their fingers. I arranged the students in groups and I gave them a simple
activity to check if they understand the lesson, after the groups activity I showed the
students the three activities for the different levels and I explained each activity,
when they started to work on the activities I walked around them to check if they
understand the instructions or not and I helped the student who didn't understand
or had difficulties completing their activity. After the levels activities the students
cleaned up their places and returned the materials to me and put the cubes back on
its shelf. Then the students went to the playground and had breakfast in the
cafeteria. During the playground time I had a meeting with my MST and she gave
me the feedback about my teaching also she gave me advices to improve my
lessons also she was so happy with my teaching and she like the activities I did, she
said that the activities I did for the students were so good to develop their cognitive
skills and fine motor skills. I felt happy to hear my mst's feedback and advices also
I'm a little disappointed because I couldn't manage the students behavior well also it
was kind of messy when they were doing the activities and I think that next time I
should say my rules before I start the lesson to be able to manage students' different
behaviors also I think that I need to be a little strict sometimes to be able to
meantime a good environment for the students. On the linguistic development
circle the teacher reviewed with the students number two and showed them a card
that have number two and two pictures then she took them to the theater and gave

them papers, colors and paintbrush and asked them to draw number two and
anything that represent number two like balls, hearts, lines and anything that come
to their minds. When the students finished drawing they returned to the classroom
and the teacher played with them the balance game then they had the areas time.
After tidying up the areas time the students help the teacher to clean the classroom
then me and my MST gave the group who cooperate together in the activity
excellence certificate and the students who cleaned the area they were playing in
and didn't let anything behind them also got a excellence certificate, me and my
MST took pictures of the excellent students then the teacher asked the students to
bring their bags from the shelves to give them number two homework. After taking
the homework the students went to have a snake on the cafeteria then they left the
kindergarten, and I left at 1:00.
I felt so happy because my MST said that when she first saw me she got an idea
about me that I'm shy and I don't have the ability to teach well but after seeing me
teaching today she was so happy and she said that she never expected me to be so
good and she said that I didn't show that I'm nerves while teaching and I was fluid
with the students also she said that I prepared so well for the activities and she was
happy because the students liked me and they were active with me also they were
not scares of me and I have a good ability to work with the children because I like
them.
Wednesday: 14th October 2015
On Wednesday I arrived at the kindergarten at 7:30 and I greeted the teachers who
were there after few minutes a mother came to bring her son and I greeted her and I
had a conversation with her, later some students arrived at the classroom and I
greeted them. When all the students came my mst asked me to sit on the circle with
them and ask each student to come and sit beside me to talk about the picture they
drew the last time at the theater. Some students came and talk confidently while
the others were so shy so they talked in a very low voice, after taking some students
the principle asked me to take them to the assembly. After the assembly I attended
English classes with the English teacher for the first time. In the English class the
teacher greeted the students then she sang with them the good morning song, then
she sang for them the rules song and she repeats them every time she talks. After
the greeting she showed the students some cards that have pictures and words that
start with the letter B to review it with them, she said the world loudly and the
students repeated it after her then she played a game with them which is jumping
on the card she say its name, for example she put 8 cards that start with the letter B
on the floor and she asked one of the students to come and jump on the bus card
then to bag card and so on, she did this game to evaluate their memorization. After
the game she did a test for the students to check their English knowledge, I took the

girls group and I did the test for them and the English teacher took the boys group
also KG2 A's classroom teacher took some girls with me so that we can finish
quickly. After testing few students they went to the playground and we look over
KG1 students while they were playing. During the second half of the playground
time I went with the English teacher to the teachers room and she showed me the
things she did for the students also she told me about the curriculum they're
following. After that she showed me her lesson plans. After the playground time
KG2 B students came to take the English class and the teacher did the same things
she did for KG2 A but she did not give them the test, she gave them a new letter
which is the letter F and she showed them words and pictures that starts with the
letter F. later the principle asked the English teacher to come to the mothers
meeting to introduce herself and talk about the English classes, I attended the
mothers meeting with them. After the mothers meeting the mothers went to their
children's classroom and asked about them then they took them and left the
kindergarten, at 11:45 the students went home and I left at 12:00 after a small
meeting with the English teacher, at this meeting she explained to me more about
what she teach and the way she teaches.
Week 3:
Sunday: 18th October 2015
I arrived to the kindergarten at 7:25 and I greeted the teachers then I went to the
teachers room to help the English teacher print the papers and copy them but the
printer was not working so we went to the principal's office and we print the papers
and it took us some time to finish everything and because of that I did not attend
the assembly with the students. After the assembly I went to KG2 B's classroom
with the English teacher, she started the lesson by greeting the students and singing
the good morning song with them then she started to review the words they took in
the previous lesson. After reviewing she showed them a PowerPoint about letter (F)
and some pictures and word that demonstrate the letter (F). after making sure they
know the words and its pictures she played with them a game which is "where I am
hiding", in this game she had five flowers and there are two pictures behind two of
the flowers, first she showed them what's behind all the flowers then she asked
them about the pictures for example the frog picture was behind the 1 st flower so
the students had to point at the 1st flower if they knew the answer. After the game
the teacher played some songs about the letter F and she went to distribute some
papers on the students' tables so they can answer them when the songs finish. The
teacher asked the students to make a line and go to their tables and answer the
papers, she gave them the instructions and they followed them, when they finished
answering they made a line to go to the cafeteria and eat their breakfast, while KG2
students were eating their breakfast I was looking over KG1 students while they

were playing on the playground. After the playground time the students went to
their classes and I went with the English teacher to KG2 A's classroom. The teacher
started the lesson by greeting, singing the food morning song and singing the rules
song. After the daily routine the teacher showed the students some card that have
some words and pictures and she started to ask them about the words to review
with them the previous lesson, then she started the new lesson which is about letter
(F) by singing the letter F song then she showed them some cards that have word
and picture that demonstrate the F letter and she said the word and the students
repeated them after her. She started a game with them put when she was saying
the instructions the resource room teacher came and asked the students to go to
the theater to listen to the lecture. When they came back from the lecture the
teacher completed the game with them and she distributed a worksheet about
letter F and the students sat on their tables and did the worksheet when they
finished they went to the cafeteria to have a snack then when they finished the
teacher gave them another worksheet about the previous lesson which is letter B .
when they finished the worksheet the teacher asked the students to make a craft
work about the frog, then when the students finished she took photos of the
students with their craft work then the students left at 12:45 and I left the
kindergarten at 1:00 after a small meeting with my English teacher.
Monday: 19th October 2015
On the second day of the week I arrived at 7:25 in the kindergarten, on this day I
observed the Arabic teacher. First of all I help my MST putting some papers on the
students' tables and collecting their pictures card and putting them on their box.
When the students arrived the teacher greeted them and she did a revision for
number one and two then we went to the assembly. After the assembly the
students went back to their classrooms and my MST started the lesson which is
about the family by introducing the family members and telling a story after the
daily routine. The story the teacher said to the students was about a baby bird that
his parents left him alone and flight away, after the story the teacher asked each
student what they will do if they were in the baby bird's place. After the story time
they went to the playground and after the playground time the teacher told the
students a story about the new letter they took in the previous lesson which is the
Arabic letter (). In this story there were five words that start with the letter ()
when the teacher finished she asked the students to tell her some word that start
with the letter ( )and she wrote the letter on the white board. The teacher gave
each student a paper that has pictures of the five words she said in the story and she
asked the students to say the story with her then she asked them to say the story
silently then each student say the story to their classmates. During the story telling
time the resource room teacher came to take the boys to the theater to lesson to
the grandfathers who came to the kindergarten to talk with the boys. The teacher

made a circle with the girls and she listened to their stories about the letter ().
When all the girls finished telling their stories the teacher wrote the lett er ( )on the
white board then she asked each girl to write it on the board. When the boys
returned after listening to the grandfathers the teacher asked them to tell her what
the grandfathers told them. After listening to the boys the teacher brought some
clay and wrote the letter ( )on the paper using the clays, then she brought some
fingers colors and she used them to write the Arabic letter ( )using her fingers on
white paper. The teacher asked each student to go to their tables and draw a picture
for their parents then when they finished she asked each student to come to the
front and talk about his/her picture and for whom she/he drew it. When all the
students finished talking the teacher asked them to bring their bags to check their
homework and give them the new homework. The students left the kindergarten at
12:45 and I left at 1:00 after checking with my MST that all the students had left.
Tuesday: 20th October 2015
On the 20th of October I arrived at 7:20 in the kindergarten and I greeted the teacher
who was there then I went to sign my attendance sheet. I went to the classroom and
I started to prepare for my English lesson. The students did not go to the assembly
because KG1 students had to go to the trip early at 8:15 and the principle said for
KG2 students to go to their classes and take the lessons. I taught KG2 A students
letter F and first I started my lesson by greeting the students and singing the good
morning song with them then I sang the rules song with them, after that I choose
the helper and I asked her to help me count the students then when she finished
counting I reviewed with them the sight words then the words they took before
when I finished the reviewing, I showed them the cards that has words and pictures
that start with the letter F and I read it for them then I gave it to each one of the
students to look at the word and read it. When they finished reading all the five
words I asked each one of them to come to the front and point at the letter F in the
word and read it so that I can make sure that they know the letter and its sound. I
started the first activity which is giving the students an envelope that has the five
words and I asked them each time to show me the card I ask them about for
example I said to them "show me frog" all of the students raised the frog card and
every time I ask them to show me one until we finished all the cards, when one of
the students make a mistake I don't correct for him/her but I ask the students if its
right or wrong and all of them say NO, then the student who made the mistake will
quickly correct his/her answer and raise the right one. When we finished the first
activity I explained to the students the differentiation activities then I arrange the
high level students in pairs and I gave them the envelop that has the cards for the
second activity, I asked the students who have the envelop to take the cards out and
show it to the other students who sit in front of them, then the other students
looked carefully at them and closed their eyes then the ones who have the cards

hide of them and the other ones opened their eyes and started to think what the
missing card I, I asked each one of the student to tell me what is the missing card. I
asked the medium and the low level students to sit on their chairs and I explained
for them the worksheet again then they started to search and color the letter F and
the low level students designed the letter (F) with the colorful circles. When they all
finished the activities they went to the playground. I looked over the students for
the first duty of the playground and in the second duty I went to listen to the English
teacher's feedback about my teaching and lesson. After the playground time I went
with my English teacher to KG2 B's classroom and she taught them the same lesson
which is letter F and she did the same activities I did for KG2 A. When she finished all
of the activities she gave them a worksheet about number one (1) and the previous
letter which is letter (B), then when she finished she did the frog craft work with
them because on Sunday she taught KG2 A for 2 classes and she finished everything
with them and she taught KG2 B for one class only so there were no time for her to
do the letter B worksheet and the frog craft work. When the two classes with KG2 B
finished I help the English teacher to organize her stuff in the class and clean it then
we had a conversation until 1:00 and then I left the kindergarten.
Wednesday: 21st October 2015
I arrived in the kindergarten at 7:30 and I signed my attendance sheet. Nobody was
in the kindergarten until 8:00 when they students arrived the principle came to the
classroom to greet the students and she told me that my MST is absent and she
wants me to teach the students, I told her that I can't be alone with the students the
hole day and she told me that she will ask another teacher to come and sit with me. I
took the students to the assembly and when we came back to the classroom I did
the daily routine with them which is greeting, saying the Doaa, reading Quran,
taking attendance and choosing the assessment. After the daily routine I did a
revision for the students about the letters and the number they took. I asked each
student to come and write Arabic letter ( )on the white board. When all of the
students finished writing I told them the letter ( )story then each student came and
pointed at the pictures and told his/her classmate the story. When they finished
telling the story they went to play on playground then I took them to the cafeteria
to eat their breakfast. When we went back to the classroom I gave them papers and
I asked them to draw whatever they want then I asked each one of them to sit in
front of me and talk about his/her drawing to the rest of the students. When they all
finished talking about their drawing I brought an iPad and I showed them the family
story and they listened well to it, while they were hearing and seeing the story I was
counting with them how many members are in the family and they were so
surprised because it was a very big family that has more than ten members, when
the story finished each student talked a little bit about their families and while they
were talking the principle came and told to take a rest because the nurse will take

them to give them some advices and show them a video. When the students came
back from the nurse room I took them to the cafeteria to eat their snack, when they
finished eating they asked me to let them play on the areas for some time and I let
them play for 15 minutes then I asked them to tidy up and clean the areas. When all
of them finished cleaning they sat in the circle and I read a story for them, while I
was reading the story the students were very interested to hear what will happen
next and they kept imagining things and they were very excited until the end. When
I finished the story I asked the students to tell me what they understood from the
story and then they brought their bags and went to the bus at 12:45 and I left the
school at 1:05.
It was a good day I had fun with the student and I was very happy because they were
polite and respected me and when I ask them to be quite they listened very well also
when we left the cafeteria I asked them to walk carefully and be quite so they dont
interrupt other classes and they listened to me and did as I told them and went to
the classroom alone without me and they sat on the circle quietly waiting for me.
Week 4:
Sunday: 25th October 2015 (trip)
On the first day in my last week on the teaching practice I arrived in the
kindergarten at 7:20 and as always I greeted the teachers who were there, the
students started to arrive at 7:40. When all the students arrived my teacher told me
that they're going on a trip to Sharjah science museum. Before the assembly I put
for each student the kindergarten logo then they went to the assembly. At 9:00 the
bus arrived and I help my MST to take the students to the bus and put the sit them
on the chairs. In the bus we gave the students their breakfast because they couldn't
eat before they leave. We arrived in the Sharjah science museum at 10:20 and the
students listened to the man's instruction and then they went to a room with two
women and played a game called classify objects when they finished the games
they went to a home outside and each student got some things and went to the
home to put everything back to its right place. When they finished putting back
everything in the home they went to the playing area and they played for almost 30
minutes and at 11:30 we left the Sharjah science museum and at 12:30 we arrived in
the kindergarten, the students went to the classroom to bring their bags and the
teacher gave them gift then they left at 12:40.
Monday: 26th October 2015
On my second day on the last week of teaching practice I arrived to the kindergarten
at 7:25 and I waited until my MST and the students arrived. During the assembly
time my MST asked me to help her to put some papers for the students on their

tables and I help her when I finished putting all the papers I went to the assembly.
After the assembly the teacher did her daily routine then she started the new lesson
by a simple activity which is each student have two papers on their places, the first
paper have a baby picture and two empty squares, the second paper have three
pictures, two of them are for the baby and the last one isn't for the baby and the
students had to cut the pictures that are for the baby and glue it on the empty
squares on the first paper. At 9:05 the students went to play on the playground and
after 30 minutes the students went to the cafeteria with their teacher to eat their
breakfast. When the students finished eating they returned to the classroom to take
a new Arabic letter which is the fifth letter (). The teacher showed the students five
pictures that start with the letter ( )and told them a story that has all of the five
pictures she showed to the students. When the teacher finished telling the story the
principle came to ask the teacher to take the girls and go with them to greet the
grandmothers and listen to their advices, the principle asked me to stay with the
boys in the classroom also she brought KG1 A boys to the classroom and asked me
to look over them for 30 minutes until the grandmothers go and the teachers come
to their classes with the girls. When the teacher and the girls came back after
hearing the grandmothers advices the teacher gave each student the five pictures
and asked them to say the story silently then after few minutes the teacher asked
each student to tell the story and while they are reading they point at each picture
they say its name. When the students finished telling the story the teacher asked
each student to come and write number 2 and letter ( )on the white board and
whoever write them right got to get a star from the teacher as a reward. The
teacher asked the students to bring their bags to check their homework and give
them the new one. When all the students took the new homework the teacher gave
them salad and let the ones who wanted to eat to sit on their places and eat and the
ones who did not want to eat sat on the circle quietly.
Tuesday: 27th October 2015
On the 27th of October I arrived in the kindergarten at 7:23 and I waited for my MST
and the students to arrive. Before the students arrived I cleaned the classroom and
prepare it for the math lesson. After the assembly the teacher did the daily routine
and she completed the previous letter which is Arabic letter (). The teacher told the
students the letter story and she let the students who did not read the previous
lesson to read the story out loud to their classmates. When the students went to the
playground I stayed in the classroom to prepare for the lesson. I made sure that my
laptop works on the smart board and I put for each student the activities on their
places and I prepared for the balls game. My MST helped me to arrange the
classroom and she told me positive words to motivate me and make me less
nervous. Ms. Muna and Ms.Aisha arrived in the kindergarten at 9:50 and I discussed
with them my lesson plan and I told them the changes I made. When the students

came to the classroom I greeted them and I introduced both Ms. Muna and Aisha to
the students so that the students will not keep looking at them all the time. I started
my lesson by a song about the numbers then I started reviewing the previous
number which is number 2. The first activity for reviewing was the students search
for number 2 in the numbers basket. Then when all of the students found number 2 I
gave them the second activity which was putting the number of the cubes that
demonstrate the number of the objects in the card. When I finished reviewing I
started the lesson which is number 3, first I showed them the number on the smart
board, and I demonstrate it using the wooden hand then I asked one of the students
to bring me three objects from the classroom. During the lesson a mother came to
pick her sons so all the students were looking at them and were not paying attention
so I said to them "ok now let's say goodbye to the triplets" and they all waved and
said goodbye to them. When the students looked at me I completed the lesson and I
explained to them the balls activity. When they all finished the balls activity I
explained to them the differentiation activities on the smart board them I asked the
girls group to stand up and go to their places quietly then the boys group made a
line and went to their places to do the activities. When they all finished my MST
went to the meeting room with Ms. Muna and Aisha and I stayed with the students,
during this time I sat with them on the carpet and I asked each student to solve the
puzzle and order the numbers. When my MST came back I went to them meeting
room to talk with Ms. Muna and Aisha about my lesson and the things I need to
improve also they gave me the feedback. When I finished discussing with Ms. Muna
and Aisha I went to the teachers' room and I talked with my MST until the students
finished their Quran time. We looked over the students during their snack time and
then when they returned to the classroom the teacher checked their homework and
they went home.
Wednesday: 28th October 2015
On my last day in the teaching practice in Al-Hisn kindergarten I arrived at 7:25.
When some of the students arrived the teacher sat with them in a small circle and
she reviewed with them the Arabic letters ( , )then she wrote some letters on
the board and asked the students to find the two letters they took. The teacher took
the students to the assembly when they all arrived and they sang the national
anthem and did some exercises then they went to the classroom. When all of the
students sat on the carpet the teacher told them that she thinks that "the rabbit fly"
and asked them if it's right or wrong some of the students said that it's wrong
because rabbits can jump only and other students said that it's right rabbits fl y also
they said that they saw flying rabbits, the teacher took the students outside and
asked them to show her the flying rabbit but they could not find anything so the
teacher explained to them that rabbits can only jump and they cannot fly and she
explained to them why. The students played some games with the teacher outside

then they came back to the classroom. The teacher did her daily routine (choosing
the assistant, taking attendance, saying the doaa and rading Quran) then the
students went to the playground. Before the breakfast time there were a lecture
and I took my students there to listen to the nurse's advices and instructions
because my MST had to finish some work. When the lecture finished the students
had their breakfast then they returned to the classroom and the teacher let them
play on the areas and I played with them and I helped them when they asked me for
help. When the teacher arrived in the classroom she asked the students to tidy uo
and clean the areas, then she asked them to bring their bags to check their
homework and give them the new homework, Then the students left the
kindergarten and I took my evaluation papers from my MST and I said goodbye to
the teachers and left the kindergarten at 1:00.
