Theatre/Musicals:
o Freshman: Flower girl in Cinderella. Time commitment of 20 hours/week for 13
weeks.
o Sophomore: A lead role as a Bird Girl in Seussical the Musical. Time
commitment of 20 hours/week for 13 weeks.
o Sophomore: I played River Flows in You on the piano for the talent show
production.
o Junior: Folly Girl in Crazy for You. Time commitment of 20 hours/week for 13
weeks.
o Junior: One Act is a play where students compete at district, regional, and
state levels. We performed Dancing at Lughnasa. Our team had a cast of eight
people (5 girls & 3 boys). The girls played middle aged Irish women. We were
#1 in state and were selected to perform at Western Michigan Universitys
Fine Arts Festival. During the season I was awarded three superior awards for
my performance as Rosie. Time commitment of 10 hours/week for 11 weeks.
o Junior: Received enough theatre points to be a part of Theatre Company.
o Senior: I am Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. Time commitment of 20 hours/week
for 13 weeks.
o Senior: A member of Theatre Company.
Music:
o Freshman: I played violin in the orchestra. In solo ensemble I received a score
of 1.
o Freshman: In Womens Chorus I was a 2nd Soprano.
o Freshman: Fine Arts Winner-Critics Choice Award in both singing and acting.
o Freshman: Knollcrest scholarship winner for choir. Participated in Knollcrest
Music Camp.

Sophomore: I played violin in the orchestra as a forth chair first violinist. In


solo ensemble I received a score of 1.
o Sophomore: I was a 1st Soprano, 2nd Soprano, and Alto in the Womens Chorus
where I received the Musicianship Award.
o Sophomore: Knollcrest scholarship winner for choir. Participated in Knollcrest
Music Camp.
o Junior: Auditioned and was placed into the 32 member Chamber Chorale
which is the top school choir and consists of a few juniors and primarily
seniors. Our choir received a perfect score at the state level. Also, we were
chosen as one of the top two choirs in the state and were asked to perform at
Western Michigan Universitys Fine Arts Festival. Time commitment of 10
hours/week for 36 weeks.
o Junior: Knollcrest scholarship winner for choir. Participated in Knollcrest Music
Camp.
o Senior: Auditioned and was placed into the 32 member Chamber Chorale.
Time commitment of 10 hours/week for 36 weeks.
o Senior: Auditioned and was placed into the state honors choir. Later this year I
will be auditioning at the regional level. Depending on how well I do at the
regional level, I will audition at the state level as well.
Forensics Team: Forensics is a competitive speaking program with twelve events
evenly divided into two general categories: dramatic interpretation and public
address. The events I have participated in are categorized under dramatic
interpretation. The Forensics season is second semester and consists of six
invitational tournaments, regionals and state. It is an individual and team event.
o Freshman: I competed on the multiple team. Multiple is a competitive fifteen
minute musical with up to eight members. The members may not touch or
make eye contact and cubes are used to form sets. My team performed
Woody Guthries American Song, and we placed third in state. Time
commitment of 20 hours/week for 12 weeks.
o Junior: I competed in the dramatic interpretation event. Dramatic
Interpretation is an individual event where the competitor chooses scenes
from a play or screenplay and cuts an eight minute version of the script. The
actress plays one or more characters. As a junior I performed the five girl roles
from Dancing at Lughnasa. I placed in semi-finals at state. Time commitment
of 20 hours/week for 12 weeks.
o Junior: I received my letter for forensics
Religious Leadership Roles:
o I am one of sixteen students who were hand selected by the Faculty at GRCHS
to be a part of a Chapel class which takes place during my senior year. This
is a leadership role which plans the chapel services and leads worship/singing
in chapel.
o Throughout high school I have been involved in the chapel services through
both singing and playing piano. On a few occasions I was also asked to sing
and play piano for the Grand Rapids Christian Middle Schools chapel services.
o Every summer since 6th grade at Lakeside Community Church I have
volunteered for various leadership positions in our Vacation Bible School
program. Time commitment of 30 hours for 1 week.
o I have been an active praise team member at Lakeside Community Church
since 6th grade through playing violin and singing. Time commitment-every
third week for 2 hours.
o I am part of Calvary Churchs youth group.
o

Student Government:

o During my freshman year I was elected onto Student Congress for my


sophomore year. Since I transferred schools I did not end up filling the
position.
