Speech 4: Persuasive Speech
24 November 2015
Persuasive Speech: Audience Assessment
Specific Goal:
My audience will be persuaded enough to want to become a blood donor with all the
great information I give them.
Type of Claim: This is a claim of Fact and Value.
Ethos: Primary Ethos:
a) Competence I myself am a blood donor and have many friends who are as well.
b) Fairness: I will provide both sides of the argument good and bad.
Secondary Ethos: I will be citing three sources in this speech.
Audience Assessment: Most of my audience members will probably have an attitude toward my proposition
that is undecided.
Adaptation to Audience Attitude:
a. Common ground: Most of us have heard of donating blood but I do not think most of us actually have
been provided with the information of how much difference it makes.
b. Latitude of acceptance: I am providing a lot of accurate research with lots of support and connection
that audience could relate to or will in the future.
Baby Steps: I have made it less complex for the audience to understand and really get the meaning behind
donating blood.
Pattern of Organization: motivational sequence.
