    David Mena graduated from Houston Academy for International Studies Early College Magnet High School in 2016 where he was on the honor roll. He received the Rice University Richard Tapia Math and Science Scholar Award in 2015 for his research on the Isoperimetric Problem. Mena was also recognized as an Amigo de las America Graduate in 2015 after completing a community development program in Ecuador. While in high school, Mena was the co-captain of the debate team, vice president of the National Honor Society, and president of a mentorship program he founded. He currently interns at Crespo Elementary teaching math and writing to fourth graders. Mena has computer skills in Microsoft Office and familiarity with multiple operating systems.
