The survey results helped the author decide how to design, publish and focus their rock music magazine based on the preferences of their target audience. Key elements included a monthly publication schedule, simplistic cover design with one main image, and a focus on a specific music genre (rock).

The results showed that 75% of people bought magazines monthly, so the author chose to publish their magazine monthly.

The results showed 75% of people preferred a simplistic magazine design with little text and a main picture on the cover, so the author decided to follow this design.

Analysis of survey results

I created a survey that asked 10 questions concerning multiple

topics regarding magazines. The results from my survey have
proved as excellent primary market research. Through this market
research I have changed and adapted my magazine to my target
audiences tastes and preferences. With the changes and additions I
have made I hope to of created a successful draft magazine.

My second question helped me

decide how often my magazine
should be published. The results
showed that 75% of people bought
magazines monthly. Through my
market research I chose to realise
my magazine monthly.

My fourth question assisted me in

the design that I should recreate in
my magazine. The results showed
75% of people preferred a
simplistic magazine design. I
decided to follow this in the
creation of my draft. A simplistic
magazine includes a little text on
the cover and a main picture etc.

Through my research I have also

found the best colour scheme for
my rock magazine: Sanctuary, which
I am going to apply to my draft.
Black, white and red scored the
highest at 75%. Black white and red
makes my magazine differ and
stand out.

The results from my magazine

showed me that my target
audience prefer one main picture
on the cover of my magazine. 75%
of people who took my survey
agreed with this. Due to these
results I have chosen to recreate
this on my magazine draft.

My magazine survey results also

helped me to identify the consumer
trends when regarding to why they
read magazines. The results showed
that 100% people agreed that they
chose to read magazines to relax.
These results will help decide the
style of information I include to
include with in my magazine, such as
the article tone etc.

The ninth question from my

magazine showed me what I should
focus my music magazine on. It was
a fairly split decision but the option
that stated No, I prefer a magazine
that focuses on a specific music
genre, was the most popular at
50%. I already knew my genre
(rock) so decided to pursue this and
singly focus on it within my
magazine.
