Dear Nurse Recruiter:
In May, I will be graduating from Shenandoah University with my Bachelor
of Science in Nursing. I am writing to you to express my interest in an RN
position at Winchester Medical Center. My main interest lies in labor and
delivery; however, I am strongly open to any staff position available. I am
willing to work days, nights, and weekends.
As indicated in my resume, I have had a great deal of experience on the
medical-surgical floors at Winchester Medical Center. This semester, I was
given the opportunity to precept under a float nurse. Through this
experience, I have been able to gain various nursing skills while being
exposed to an array of patients and opportunities on different floors. This
experience has also allowed me to provide quality patient care and develop
time management skills. Preceptors have commented on how excellent my
ability is to use myself synergistically when developing therapeutic and
professional relationships with patients, family members, peers, and faculty
members. I have also been recognized for my high level of accuracy in
assessments and documentations.
In addition to my clinical experiences at your facility, I was able to travel to
Haiti with a Valley Health medical team in May 2015 to serve obstetrical
patients during the preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative stages.
This opportunity allowed me to gain a great amount of experience with my
nursing skills, such as IV therapy, foley insertion, and post-operative
monitoring. I was also able to develop leadership skills due to the
environment in which we were exposed to while working with very limited
supplies.
At your convenience, I would like to discuss this opportunity in person; it
would be my pleasure to begin my career at Winchester Medical Center. I
will be in touch within the next couple of weeks. I look forward to hearing
from you.
Sincerely,
Amanda Lane
