THE TEXAS REVOLUTION- AN INTERPRETATION
Opening Scene: Austins First Letter
Maybe I should write a letter to all the Texas soldiers. To all of the Texas soldiers in this
terrible revolution. No, not terrible. Great! No, not great. Let me just cross that out. To all of the
brave soldiers. I hope that you are alive and well. I want to tell you that all of us are supporting
you. I hope that the Mexicans have not planned a deceitful attack. Austin Yeah Thats it. That
man, Davy Crockett. He was so lively
Battle of the Alamo
Crockett and other soldier are sleeping (hears gunshot)- wakes up, soldier is shot, hides behind
wall
Davy peeks out- Its a massacre, I need to help!
Davy shoots two soldiers (mahi and miles)
SOMETIME LATER ( mahi or annie)
(realizes his rifle is out of ammo)
Davy- My rifle, no more ammo (turns it over)
Spanish soldier starts to fight him
(Spanish soldier is fighting Davy Crockett, who has an empty rifle)
Davy Crockett- grunting (panting too)
(soldier hits him to ground and shoots him in shoulder)
Davy Crockett (fakes death)
Soldiers run past him
Davy Crockett- (gets up) Those losers hahahahaha!
SOMETIME LATER (mahi or annie)
Davy Crockett- trips and falls
A Spanish soldier comes and pins him to the ground, taking his gun too
Santa Anna- Who are you?
Davy Crockett- I'm just a tourist passing through. The Alamo was my shelter!
Santa Anna- I dont believe you! Kill him! Kill them all!!!!!
Davy- pretends to play fiddle (sad fiddle music)
Spanish soldier shoots him in the head
Davy Crockett slowly falls down
Next Scene: Austins Second Letter
I feel like another letter is in order. To all of the Texas soldiers. Should I say at the
Alamo? Yeah I will. To all the Texas soldiers at the Alamo. I am truly sorry. No, remorseful!

Remorseful for the losses at the Alamo. Many men got killed. I think passed is better there. You
lost some great men, like Crockett and Travis. Well, I do know that this isnt the end. You still
have a chance! Austin. Well, I know that the Mexicans definitely wont let their guard down now.
Next Scene: Battle of San Jacinto
(Santa Annas camp site)
{need some spanish soldiers around the site}
Santa Anna- Mis amigos, we are in a good position against the Tejas army.
Juan Almonte- How, Seor Santa?
Santa Anna- They are behind, General Almonte. They do not know what we have planned.
(Maniacal laughs happen through the crowd)
Juan Almonte- Im not sure this is the best idea, Santa.
Santa Anna- Dont worry, our army is ten times better than that puny squad of Texans. We have
already won at the Alamo and sooner or later the Texans will obey us again!
(talks to soldiers) Remember: When we are in battle, we dont take prisoners. We just win to
protect the best country ever Mexico! (soldiers applaud and get excited) You guys have all
worked very well and fought bravely so now I think we can take a break (more clapping) Perhaps
we will just stay for a while, we can have a siesta!
Juan Almonte- (looks uncertain) I dont know.
(Texas Army site)
{some texas soldiers needed)
Sam Houston is swinging rifle near his side and hits someone in the face
Sam Houston- This is our chance, our chance to finally win against those Mexicans. We can
achieve our dreams and make people proud.
Soldier- How do we do that sir?
Sam Houston- I have a surprise attack planned, we will attack and win this war.
Davy Crockett (as a ghost)- You shall attack and capture Santa Anna, to win.
Sam Houston- To win, we must also capture Santa Anna, I think.
(Texas Army cheers)
(site of battle)
Sam Houston- You see that? Thats the Mexicans. We go there and we attack, just like we
discussed.
Soldiers walk slowly
Santa Anna and soldiers shown sleeping (siesta)
Soldiers yell out- AHHHHHH (any of cast)
Mexican soldiers and Santa Anna get up
Juan Almonte- You know what Santa, I warned you!
Santa Anna- what is that?
Soldiers- It's the texans! (any of cast)
Santa Anna- Get up everyone, get up and fight!
People start shooting each other
(some people lie dead)
Santa Anna- I must run away, I cant fight right now!

Sam Houston (riding horse)- (gets shot in ankle) AHHH, that hurts, but I have to find Santa
Anna!
Sam Houston- (notices him running away from the war) Is that him?
(rides towards him, hits with back of gun)
(santa anna falls and grunts)
(Sam Houston gets off horse and captures him)
Santa Anna- You cant do this!
Sam Houston- I believe we just did! Surrender or we will kill everyone!
Santa Anna- Alright, I surrender...
SOMETIME LATER (Mahi or Annie)
Sam Houston- Sign this truce, now!
Santa Anna- But why? Why do I have to? (Whiny voice)
Sam Houston- Cause i said so!!!!
Santa Anna- Ok fine but that doesnt make me like you
Final Scene- Austins Last Letter
(talking to himself) This time, I cant wait to write! Ok, no interruptions. (letter) I have
heard the wonderful news! Finally, this war is over. Everyone in Texas is rejoicing at this. To all
the soldiers, I give my greatest thanks. Without you, we would be under Mexican rule. Hooray
for Texas!
Davy and Sam- TEXAS!
Santa and Juan- MEXICO!
No Texas, No Mexico
(Start fighting)
Mahi- Lets just stop the fighting and bow.
(EVERYONE BOWS)
