WET-03 : Boot your system /install ubuntu from Pen Drive

How can install ubuntu in a computer/laptop in which the DVD Drive is not functioning?
Or, How can install ubuntu in a laptop without any optical Drive (DVD Drive)?.

Follow the below steps:


1. You can create a startup pen drive (bootable and Ubuntu installer included pen
drive.) from any other Ubuntu system having a DVD Drive.
2. For this, firstly create an iso image of the 'IT@School Ubuntu DVD' and save it in
the Deaktop(or any other location) of the system.
3. Insert an 8GB pendrive in USB Port
4. Then, open the 'Make Startup Disk' window as per :
System --> Administration --> USB Startup Disk Creator
5. The window appears like:

5. click on 'other' button and select the ubuntu iso image.


6. Select the dicted pen drive and click 'Format'
7. If the Pen drive is formated and ok, then click the button 'Make Startup Disk'
8. After few minutes (around 15 to 20 minutes) the disk creation completed message
will appear.

9. Configure the system/laptop without DVD Drive as pen drive as I boot device.
10. Insert the pen drive in usb port and restart the system. You can install/boot Ubuntu as
just as from the DVD
