DRAMA ACTIVITY: After the murder of John F Kennedy Junior
Level: Intermediate Age: Adolescent/ Adult Skills: Integrated Skills Materials: a microphone, some materials for a TV programme, some pictures of JFK Junior
Story :
The son of assasinated US president JFK was murdered. There are many cospiracy theories about how he was killed. In every annivarsary of his murder American people come up with a new cospiracy theory. However this time, in a TV programme, people will discuss the possible reasons of his murder, why he was murdereed. It is a live programme.
Procedure :
The people who have a discussion about the possible reasons of JFK Junior’s murder on a TV programme have alraedy thought about how they support their ideas. Now they are in studio waiting fort he programme to start.
Steps :
The teacher will act out the presenter of the programme so that she can conduct the drama activity with some leading questions. Before the drama activity, the students are introduced to the story of the activity.
1) 2 groups of students take their seats arranged accordinly for a discussion in a TV
programme. 2) The presenter of the pragramme makes an openning speech, introduces herself and guests, and welcomes the people in the studio and the people watching them on TV. 3) The presenter gives the phone number of the TV for the people who want to call and ask any questions. 4) The presenter gives the microphone to the first group and wants them to support their ideas about why JFK Junior was killed. 5) When the first group finish their speeches, it is the second group’s turn. 6) If they want, the audience in the studio or the people who are watching the programme on TV can ask their questions.

• Certain uterrances are used in the drama activity in a controlled sense, mainly by focusing on pronunciation and speaking skills. • Productional / Free speaking activity mainly aiming at “Past Probabilities” • It is used as POST of a lesson plan.
Materials : some pictures of JFK Junior, a microphone, some materials for a TV programme.
