    PETITION: Stop NY Double Dip

    A Special Project of New Dawn PAC

    As a citizen of New York I stand opposed to "Double Dip" career politicians, who exploit
    a loophole in state law that allows them concurrently collect their pension and full salary.
    I join Colin Schmitt, Chairman of New Dawn, to object to this abuse of our system and
    support the proposed "Stop NY Double Dip" action points:

    1) Close the loophole that allows elected officials serving since before 1995 to
    concurrently collect their pension and full salary, something that drains an already
    financially-strapped state.

    2) Require a retroactive change for those politicians currently engaged in the "Double
    Dip" pension scandal, making it so they can select either the pension and then retire or
    the salary, but not both while in office.

    3) Support legislation that is currently pending that would remove politicians from the
    pension system and move them to 401k plans.
