A Mass For Peace
When: Sunday, September 11, 4:00 & 7:00 pm at St. Andrew United Methodist Church
Who: The 130-voice Adult Choir of St. Andrew, the 100-voice Denver Gay Men’s Chorus
and the 80-voice Denver Women’s Chorus, plus full orchestra
Music: The main work is The Armed Man, A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins and each
individual group will do a number including an orchestra number.
Participation fee: $15 per singer
Why: To help people remember those who were lost on September 11, 2001. It will be a
solemn event focused on music and a small amount of speaking.
Event cost: There will be a freewill offering. Proceeds will cover the costs of the event
(orchestra) and a donation will be made to an appropriate fund such as area firefighters
or something that is connected to September 11. Details TBA.
A few details: Program length about one hour; we are working to provide a light dinner for
choir and orchestra in between two performances. Women will wear all black and men
will wear a tux or black suit with a black bow tie.
Rehearsals: Participants must attend at least six rehearsals and Saturday dress rehearsal.
