Asha Akbar
There is similarities of our music video and our ancillary task
but there are few.
In our music video the colour of the clothing is very different
to our ancillary task in which we made a digi pack. In the
music video we used mostly dark and dull colours, there is
only one scene in which Waqar (the character playing B.O.B)
Throughout the ancillary task we used mid-shots and we
used a range of different mid-shots the music video this was
to help the audience identify what the artists are feeling and
to show their body language.
We have also kept the same people in the video on the
album cover so this will help the audience identify the album
to the song and vice versa.
Existing Media:
PAPERTRAIL
The image to the left of the screen is an album cover and the
images on the right of the screen are from a music video which
is from this album. As you can see the images in the music
video are very different to the album cover this is common in
the music industry.
Our Advance
Portfolio: NO MERCY
The image to the left of the screen is the album cover we have
created. To right of the screen there are screen shots of our
music video. We have both artist from the music video on the
album cover as it is there album. We haven’t used the same
setting of the video as our background image as we noticed
that this isn’t used with real media.
Ancillary Task
Screen Shots Taken From Our Music Video
Most of the scenes which we shot were out doors and tended
to be quite bright, whereas, the album cover is a dark
background this is because we believed that the music video
and ancillary task doesn’t need to look similar as the theme of
the video is different to the theme of the album because the
album has a lot of other songs.
The narrative of the video shows the artist to be strong,
infuriating and independent, this is also the same with the
album cover. We have shown this by having a midshot of the
artists so the audience can see their body language and their
facial expression which is no expression, this helps them look
more infuriating.
