Technology in Language Teaching

 Technology has been around in language


teaching for decades.
 Tape recorders, language laboratories and video
have been in use since 1960s and 1970s and are
still used in classrooms around the world.
 CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning),
appeared in the early 1980s.
 TELL (Technology Enhanced Language Learning)
appeared in the 1990s in
•Internet access is increasingly available to learners

to the world of technology  for example:
teachers are digital immigrants

 at least a computer
 an internet connection
 a printer
 an audio card in the computer and a headset
(audio and microphone)
 basic software ( a word processing program,
a web browser and an email program)
