E1 When most people think of Helen Keller, they cant help but think of Anne Sullivan.

Helen, the star pupil, and Anne, the model teacher, go together like a hand and glove. Both of these women were truly remarkable. Helen Keller was left deaf and blind from an illness when she was a baby. Anne Sullivan, nearly blind herself, taught Helen to read Braille, a system of raised dots designed for the blind.
