Subneting IP

This document provides an overview of IPv4 addressing and address classes: - IPv4 addresses are 32-bit numbers divided into four octets, with the first octet determining the address class (A, B, C, D, or E). - Class A addresses have up to 16 million hosts per network, Class B up to 65,000 hosts, and Class C up to 256 hosts. Private address spaces are also indicated. - A table shows the available networks, maximum hosts, and total address space for each class. The default subnet masks for classes A, B, and C are also listed.
