MyTinyWorld Nails has the largest range of handmade nail art canes and slices in the UK. We pride ourselves in only providing the highest quality nail art products. We have been asked many times "What are nail art canes?", "What are they made of?" and "How do you make them?". Manufacturing Process
Finished nail art canes look a little like small sticks of rock. The design you can see at the end runs through the whole length of the cane. The designs are created by splitting the desired finished pattern down into the component parts. Each of the components are then made by layering many colours of clay, then taking these and stacking them gradually building up the design. All of the finished components are finally stacked together - sometimes up to 300! - to create the finished unbaked cane which can be 20cm or more wide. The cane is then carefully stretched and reduced in size to the required diameter. This is where the magic happens! As you reduce the cane in diameter the pattern inside also reduces, keeping its shape and detail. The cane is then baked to cure the clay and when the cane is sliced in cross-section, the detailed pattern inside is revealed. Once a design is complete it is wrapped in a translucent clay which appears white until it is baked. This layer helps maintain the designs shape whilst being reduced and becomes invisible when applied to the nail. To slice the finished baked cane, use a single edged razor blade and carefully press down on the cane at the point you wish to cut. You may warm the canes in your hand prior to cutting to make the canes a little softer, resulting in the cutting process being slightly easier. Our polymer clay nail art canes can be used with natural, acrylic and gel enhancements and can be embedded into nail polish and coloured gels. Best results are achieved by slicing the canes paper thin. Our products can be used to create 3D nail art effects and do not need to be sealed or covered. Nail art slices retain their colour and design after filing and do not react to any other enhancement products. Our nail art canes can be stored for use without fear of the quality degrading. We recommend using the products within 5 years of purchase. We have provided a series of free tutorials on our website demonstrate the use of our products with both acrylic and gel based enhancements. We are also very happy to talk to you about creating custom nail art canes to your own designs.

How Our Products are Used When our nail art canes are cut wafer thin into slice and applied to nails, they look absolutely stunning and guarantee to be the envy of your friends. All of our canes and cane slices are designed by us and many are made on site at our UK warehouse and distribution facility, using polymer clay which is durable and waterproof. Canes are used extensively by professional nail technicians and owner boutiques to supply modern, high quality nail art to thousands of customers worldwide. They are also used by many people in the miniatures world to add to their miniature food quickly and simply, providing a professional and realistic finish. Sample photography of some of the finished nail art that can be achieved using our products is available on our website, along with tutorials for 12 different product designs. New tutorials are being added regularly.
Polymer Clay Workshops We are happy to come to you if there is a group, such as a dolls house miniaturists group and provide demonstrations from 1 hour to complete days and covering any of our handmade items such as our popular fruit and vegetable range, our canes, cakes and tarts and bakery products. We have two demonstrators, Terrie and Nikki, who are guaranteed to having you smiling and making miniatures like a professional! These talented ladies design and make a large amount of MyTinyWorld's extensive handmade miniatures in Northampton, UK so you are in very experienced, capable hands. We also offer workshops for individuals at our Northampton warehouse and manufacturing base seven days a week starting at 25.00 per hour. Places are limited and often booked well in advance.

Product Information The vast majority of our products are made by MyTinyWorld Limited on behalf of MyTinyworld Nails in Northampton UK from polymer clay. Our products are compatible with all general nail enhancement products including all brands of gels and acrylics. Once applied to the nails our products will remain in perfect condition even under tough conditions. Product Descriptions Our nail canes and slices may contain glitter and transparent clay which is indicated on each product shown in the catalogue. Example: G: Glitter, T: Transparent and N: Normal. It is the customers responsibility to check descriptions and order accordingly. Product Pricing Prices shown within this catalogue are for single canes and per bag of 50 slices and include VAT where applicable. Price does not include postage and packing. Current charges are based on Royal Mail prices. Details of these charges are available on our website mytinyworld.co.uk/nailart Retail Bulk Buying Many of our products now have a "Bulk Buy - Buy More, Save More" feature. This tells you the price you will pay for buying multiple of the same item. Bulk Buy prices are indicated at the start of each nail cane section within this catalogue. Tools of the Trade

Essential tools for professional Nail Technicians, Salons and Miniaturists...
For optimum results when slicing your nail canes, you must use specifically designed blades to help you achieve the finest cuts with overall regularity. Using the blades is a skill gained with practice. When used correctly, these single edged steel razor blades are absolutely perfect for cutting our nail art and all other miniaturists canes. They are ultra thin to enable you to cut slices as thin as 0.2mm, therefore avoiding wedge shaped slices.
Instructions for cutting your polymer clay canes

Start by warming the canes in your hands for a few minutes prior to cutting. This makes the canes a little softer, resulting in the cutting process being slightly easier. To slice the finished baked cane, use one of our single edged razor blades and carefully press down on the cane at the point you wish to cut. It does help to look down and almost position your head directly above the point where you are about to cut. This position also helps in keeping the blade at the correct angle so that you are making as near perfect a straight vertical downward slice with each cut. If you use the blade at a 45O angle, your blade will wear much quicker at one end.

All of the twelve different inserts are available in PDF format for you to download and print off.
Welcome your client and complete a consultation to establish your clients choice of nail tip and length. Dont forget to sanitise yourself and your client. Warm your nail art cane if necessary. IMAGE 1 Prepare the nail bed and remove any pterygium. Go on to cleanse the nail plate and side walls ready for tip application. It is important to apply correctly fitting white tips IMAGE 2 then cut and shape to the required length and shape. IMAGE 3 Cleanse the nail plate and side walls. If applicable, prime the nail plate following your product instructions.

Now your nail art cane is warm, you can slice wafer thin pieces which will be pliable to mould exactly to the nail shape for encapsulation. Pick up a very small bead of clear coloured acrylic product where you are going to place your slice of nail art cane. IMAGE 4
Whilst your coloured product is still wet, place your nail art cane slice into place using a birchwood stick. IMAGE 5 Continue this step to place several nail art cane slices into place IMAGE 6 Continue your extension application by using clear acrylic with your usual size beads to create your nail enhancement zone by zone. IMAGE 7
Refine your nail extension to remove any imperfections to achieve the chosen shape. Ensure parallel side walls have an aesthetic c curve thinning at the cuticle area and free edge. Looking down the barrels of the nails will reveal ten identical bevel shaped and thin enhancements. IMAGE 8 Use a buffer block to remove any further slight imperfections and then a shiner to create an acrylic glass-like surface. You could further enhance your work even more by using a special effects tool to dot on an aqua stem. IMAGE 9 Finally, apply cuticle oil and offer your client any appropriate after care advice.
