Sri Lankas attributes are many. Few places have as many Unesco World Heritage Sites (eight) packed into such a small area. Its 2000-plus years of culture can be discovered at ancient sites filled with mystery. Legendary temples boast beautiful details crafted by artisans through the centuries.

When youre ready to escape the tropical climate of the coast and lowlands, head for the hills, which are verdant, virescent and virally infectious with allure. Impossibly green tea plantations and rainforested peaks beckon walkers, trekkers or just those who want to see it on a spectacular train ride. And then there are the beaches. The beaches! Dazzlingly white and all so often untrod, they ring the island so that no matter where you go, youll be near a sandy gem. Should you beat the inevitable languor, you can surf and dive world-class sites without world-class crowds.
Leos of Sri Lanka

In Lions International, Sri Lanka is recognized as the Multiple District 306. It is divided into 6 Leo Districts for administration. These administrative bodies have been so strong, leading the Leo movement in Sri Lanka to be a well established one. Of these, Leo District 306 A2 is one of the leading Leo districts of Sri Lanka. Its sponsored by Lions District 306 A2 and presently 24 Leo clubs are actively serving the community while developing their leadership skills. Leo Clubs of 306 A2 spread across the country from Colombo along with down south. In Leoistic year 2012/2013 Leos of 306 A2 move forward under the theme Together from the Heart.

International Leo Youth Camp 2013

Leo Youth Camp is a major annual event of a Leo District in Sri Lanka. In normal practice, these youth camps run for three days as a residential camp. Here in 2013, we are now preparing to welcome Leos from all around the world, to Sri Lanka; for Leo Youth Camp 2013. The camp is scheduled from 23rd to 25th of February 2013. It will be held in Naula, Central Province, Sri Lanka. The program consists of Leadership Development & Adventure activities which enhance the teamwork & personal development of Leo Club members. We have many fun and exciting programs planned and we give all the campers a chance to be fully immersed and enjoy in the great outdoors during this unforgettable three days. This will surely be a lifetime experience for the campers while adding values to their personal lives as well. A campfire will be taken place and short and sweet dramas, songs and many more surprises with fun-filled activities are waiting to garnish the camp nights.

Camp Site
This year our Camp site will be the National Youth Corps Training Centre, Arangala, Naula. Naula is a small town located in Central Province, about 53 kilometres from Kandy. This area of the upcountry is belonged to intermediate climate zone. Along the roads near Naula, there are full of nice sceneries. Bowatenna Dam, Tank & Power Station, Nalanda Gedige, Nalanda Tank, Nitre Caves are some of the famous places near the campsite. Anyone will be amazed at the surroundings which is an ideal retreat for camping as well as the natural beauty of the camp setting and hiking route.
Previous Camps in Retrospect

Leo Youth Camp is the most awaited event in Leo Calendar. Camps in previous years were held at different locations around the island and the feedback from the participants reflects its great success and its improvement throughout the years. Our previous camps were graced with the gathering of Leos from all the corners of the country as well as Leos from all around the world who get together in harmony for their dreaming event of the year, Leo Youth Camp. During these camps all the participants, who came from different cultural backgrounds had a wonderful time while experiencing the fellowship and brotherhood with lots of unforgettable experiences.
The time we (me and seven other leos of Nepal) entered into Sri Lanka till we departed, I remember each and every moment and I must say thank you for everything. Your warm hospitality and friendly behaviour made us to feel like at home. Overall the experience of the Leo International Youth Camp of Leo District A2 was outstanding. I think the ideas and concept of work and the team building effort which I learn from there will help me in my daily life. I still give example of you all over here and everywhere, Not only in the camp but we also got chance to learn about your culture, tradition, food and language. Finally at the time of depart from your country our eyes were moist with a hope that this friendship will last for ever . Leo Youth Camp is one of major annual events of Leo District 306 A2. I dont have enough words to express the experience and fun of Leo Youth Camps because its that much enjoyable. Its a place where we find our new leaders. Most of the leaders in district 306 A2 showed their talents in youth camps and came up. Specialties of our camps are that we practice all the qualities which real leaders should have through discussions, activities, outbound trainings, adventurous hikes and games. As I believe those three days changed our lives with an unlimited fun. We are talking about camp fire and mada session for years after the camp. Funny and interesting activities consisted with breathtaking surprises, adventurous and exciting games as well as romantic and comic short dramas are waiting for you this year. Throughout the camp there will be lots of fun-filled activities utilizing the leadership and teamwork skills along with the creative ideas of the campers. It is sure that you will have a remarkable camp experience of significance this time and leave with memories and friendships that will last for a lifetime from this paradise island. The beautiful mountain atmosphere of the camp site will offer a variety of fetching activities including hiking and many more field games. During the stay in the island you would travel along stunning landscapes, pristine beaches, captivating cultural heritage and unique experiences in tropical natural parks. It is a wonderful opportunity for you to participate in a youth camp in this magical island where you will be welcome by the Leos of a hospitable Nation.

The Schedule
A special schedule will be arranged for the International Leos during your stay in the island to make your visit more worth. Every necessary facilities will be provided to make you feel like your own home until you leave the island. There you would experience a city tour to witness the charm of Colombo, a distinctive and attractive Cultural Night and you would travel through ancient and world heritage cities and this remarkable journey will end up with a last minute cheap shopping in Colombo and a friendly Cricket match to add more fun.
DAY 01
21st Feb
- Picking up from Bandaranaike International Airport. [1.00 a.m.] - Arriving at the hotel/ residence. [4.00 a.m.] - A tour around Colombo city with Leos. [In this day, the whole Colombo city will be covered including Galleface (beach), Independence Square, National Museum, Lotus Pond Theatre, Waters Edge, Parliament, Gangarama Temple, Laksala (State Owned Handicrafts and Souvenirs Emporium) and many famous tourism attractions in Colombo] - Cultural Night and Dinner with Council Officers of the district and other Leos [7.00 p.m.] - A tour to Citadel of Sigiriya (The eighth wonder of the ancient world) and Minneriya National Park (including wildlife safari). - Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite at Naula.

- International Leo Youth Camp 2013 [According to the camp schedule, we will leave the camp premises by 3.30p.m. on 25th of Februry. Then you will be taken to Colombo with Sri Lankan Leos and will be directed to the residences as arranged]
DAY 06
26th Feb
- A tour to a World Heritage City, Galle. [In this day, many famous tourism attractions will be covered including Galle Fort and Lighthouse, Unawatuna beach, The Maritime Museum, Hikkaduwa Coral garden] - Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Galle. - A shopping tour in Colombo including Pettah. - A cricket match will be organized for visiting Leos and after the cricket match the departure from Bandaranaike International Airport will be according to the flight schedule on the day.
DAY 07
27th Feb
This is the schedule from the Airport to the end of the program in the island. During this time period, you will be provided with all meals, transportation and accommodation.

The Camp fee would be 300 USD.
