Final Demonstration Lesson Plan in Technology and Livelihood Education Home Economics: Beauty Care Services Grade 7 I.

Objectives: At the end of the period, the students should be able to: a. Explain the steps in setting foot spa tools, materials and equipment; b. Demonstrate the standard or basic steps in setting foot spa tools, materials and equipment in a salon procedure; and c. Show appreciation on the importance of having knowledge in setting foot spa tools, materials and equipment preparation. II. Subject Matter: 1. Topic: Setting Foot Spa Tools, Materials and Equipment in a Salon Procedure. 2. Reference: Technology and Livelihood Education: Beauty Care Services Learning Module, p. 24 3. Instructional Materials: Printed Aid, Pictures, Improvised Tools, Materials and Equipment. III. Procedure: Teachers Activity A. Preparation: Prayer Greetings Checking of Attendance Review previous lesson: Foots Spa tools and Equipment Activity 1: Watch Me 1. Let the students watch the slide show of the foot spa tools, materials and equipment. 2. Let the students discover the names of the different foot spa tools, materials and equipment. 3. Let the student express their thought about the slide show. Motivation: Activity 2: Video Presentation of a beauty salon. 1. Let the students watch video presentation. 2. C. Lesson Proper: Nowadays, every corner in the city shows how demanding is the call for this foot spa as the relaxation of all womans. In setting tools in a salon is not easy task to a helper, trainee and a beautician. Imagine that you are a beautician/beauty expert in a salon, why do you need to prepare all tools before the foot spa service?

We need to prepare all tools before the foot spa service to minimize time to use.

(The teacher show the tools, materials and equipment to his student to classify them). Class these are the tools, materials and equipment used in foot spa. Foot spa machine Can you name all of these tools? Sterilizer What do you call these tools?

There are standard or basic steps in setting foot spa tools materials and equipment in a salon procedure. What do you think is the first step? The first step is to sterilize all material implements in the sterilizer.

Yes! Very Good Fabian! Sterilize all metal implements in the sterilizer. Why do we need to sterilize all metal impements? We need to sterilized all metal implements to kill all the bacteria.

When you are done sterilizing all metal implements, what should be the next step?

The second step is sanitize all non-metal implements by immersing them in disinfecting fluid.

The next step is prepare all equipment neatly on the trolley. Why do we need to place all tools properly in arrangement in the trolley? The beautician/beauty expert will easily get their materials use in foot spa.

The next step is place a bowl of warm soapy water on the towel previously placed on the floor. Why do we have to use warm soapy water? We need to use warm soapy water to soften the dirt of the feet of your patron.

How could you determine if the machine is in appropriate temperature?

By selecting the proper temperature of the time.

The last step is prepare towels, one for protection the other is for drying the clients feet. D. Application : Oral Recitation What are the tools, materials and equipment in foot spa? What do you think is the outcome if you did not follow the steps in foot spa preparation? E. Generalization: What did you learn about foot spa preparation? What did you feel when you were able to follow the correct steps in foot spa preparation? IV. Evaluation: Group Activity: Return Demonstration 1. The students will be grouped in three. 2. Let the students do the actual steps on how to arrange the foot spa tools, materials and equipment in a basic step. 3. Allow students to develop their skills and knowledge in fixing the proper tools materials and equipment. 4. The students will be given 15 minutes to do the task.
