We published an 8 part interview of Felix by James Ridgeway of Solitary Watch, and our own Pat Bliss. We have also posted numerous articles about Felix and his case. Ms. Bliss is working on a serialized version of the case which we are presenting as a series of embedded PDFs, and we have a petition site dedicated to securing a pardon for this innocent Deaf man.

Inmate Letter Dated July 1st 2012 Posted on July 13, 2012 by ptbliss Ms. Bliss posted one of many letters received from Deaf inmates in Florida prisons. This letter is different form others that we publish, in that this inmate is still struggling with his deafness, like trying to use a TTY phone and communicating with the hearing. Demand Justice for Lashonn White Posted on August 8, 2012 by bitcodavid Lashonn White called the police to protect her from a home invasion. When the cruisers arrived at her location, Ms. White a Deaf woman - ran out to greet them, thinking they were her salvation. Unable to hear the officers commands to stop, Ms. White continued running toward them. Naturally, the officers - unaware of who she was - shot her with a stun gun and locked her up. The beautifully formatted PowerPoint embed has numerous pictures of California inmates struggling with the overcrowding, that has forced the U.S. Supreme Court to rule that California must actually begin releasing some prisoners. The state - we are told - has endeavored to comply . A Review of Glenn Langohrs Underdog Posted on November 28, 2012 by bitcodavid Our contributor Glenn Langohr spent over 10 years in many of Californias roughest prisons. He was involved in several prison riots , and ended up spending large amounts of time in solitary confinement. He has written numerous books on his time behind bars, and has been gracious enough to send me 2 of them, which I have read, and reviewed in DeafInPrison.com. Underdog is one such book, and I thoroughly enjoyed the read. This month, I did another review, this one of his book Prison Riot. I was very fortunate, this time however. Glenn agreed to do an interview as well. In it we go in depth, into the politics and policies of Californias prison system. Both posts are great reads, but the interview is a must see. The Horror of Being Deaf and in Prison Posted on March 5, 2012 by McCayVernon One of the first articles we ever published was written by Dr. McCay Vernon, and appeared originally in the American Annals of the Deaf. The business and editorial offices for the publication are at Gallaudet University. It didnt take us long to find a video related to this post, and after having the ASL interpreted in English for our Hearie readers, we posted that as well. It was our first video embed. I hope you enjoyed our little retrospective, as much as I enjoyed creating it for you.
