APPENDIX C NATIONAL BOARD OF MEDICAL EXAMINERS INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATIONS OF MEDICINE CLINICAL SCIENCE EXAMINATION (IFOM-CSE) Monday October 8, 2012

(8:00 AM 2:00 PM) IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR EXAMINEES

HBKU Student Centre, Education City, Gate 3 (refer to separate map provided for directions) or go to the following link (Student Centre is building E14):

Exam registration: Late arrival: Identification: Report promptly at 8:00 AM to Registration Desk (this will be sign-posted). Note that YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED after the examination has been in progress for more than 15 minutes. Photographic identification is required to check-in for the exam and therefore you MUST bring the official ID you used for registration.

Applicants who are citizens of Qatar may use one of the following as proof of ID (whichever was used for registration): o A valid passport o Countrys (Qatar) ID card Non-citizens must use a valid passport as proof of ID.

Without the correct official ID, you WILL NOT be allowed to sit for the exam.

Ensure that you keep your official ID (passport) with you at all times and present it to the examination administrators when asked to do so. Note that the driver of the car entering into Education City will also require another form of ID for the Security Post at Gate 3 for entry into Education City (i.e. Drivers licence or Qatar ID). Alternatively display the Gate Pass provided on the vehicle windscreen and drive in the right lane to facilitate entrance into Education City. Car Parking: There is limited parking available. Where possible, you should make arrangements to be dropped off or car-pool with other examinees. Note that the large exam hall can often feel cold and therefore you are encouraged to bring a cardigan/jumper or shawl in case you should need it. Coats or jackets will not be permitted in the exam hall.

Exam conditions:

APPENDIX C Personal items: Note that the following items are not permitted in the exam halls and therefore you will be asked to deposit them in a secure location outside of the exam hall. Exam materials: Medicines: Personal Digital Assistants (e.g. palm pilots) Cellular telephones Calculators Watches with alarms, computer of memory capability Paging devices Recording or filming devices Radios, iPods iPads, laptops Reference materials (books, notes, papers) Briefcases, luggage or coats Beverages or food of any type

All of the exam materials (including pencils and erasers) will be provided to you. If you need to take your medicines during the exam give your medicine to the proctor at the start of the exam session and he/she will provide it to you as required The exam is a multiple choice format and Examinees should be able to leave at around 2:00 pm. Tea/coffee will be available from 7:00 am and a light lunch will be provided at the end of the exam. Water bottles will be provided during the exam. You can bring in your own food if you prefer but Note that no food or beverage (including water) will be permitted in the exam halls.
