We've focused our work on explain and compare the main characters, we're going to presentate you Sherlock and Dr.Watson and then, to do it easier, we're going to show you the basic structure of all stories about Sherlock Holmes. Arriving to the end of the presentation we will compare and contrast characters and versions donde along the time. Sherlock Holmes is a fictional character created in 1887 by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He's an English detective of the nineteenth century. The extensive bibliography of Arthur Conan Doyle in which recounts the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and his friend Watson, is known as Canon of Sherlock Holmes and consists of four novels and fifty-six stories. Sherlock Holmes Originally a private detective, tall, thin, cold, ironic, witty abd intellectually restless. There have been many versions of this character. Holmes always used scientific methods(or supposedly scientific) and focuses on the methods of logic and the powers of observation and deduction. It is an eccentric and always remains objective. He only reveals things slowly. It has become a popular icon. Dr.Watson John H. Watson, known as Dr.Watson, is an important character in the Sherlock Holmes stories which are writted by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Watson is Shelock's friend, assistant and sometimes flatmate, he is a profesional shooter, an excellent doctor and a good surgeon. Watson is the first person narrator of all except four stories in the Serlock Holmes canon. He is also intelligent, if Holmes can't resolve a problem, Watson helps him. He serves as a perfect foil for Holmes. Structure First Sherlock listens to a costumer who tells his problem. Always about crimes and robberies that have not been well resolved. The client thinks that the investigation was not right and thinks that Holmes will solve it properly. Sherlock agrees and speaks whith Watson. Then they go to the place of the crime to investigate. Sherlock finally finds a detail to change the opinion of the police. After all, the conclusion is completely different and the client is very gratefull.
Versions 1)Sherlock (serie) Sherlock Holmes in this version is tall and he has got curly black hair. Like the original character, Holmes is able to deduce and abduct information from the smallest details. He describes himself as consulting detective, the only one in the world. He is not very sociable and is insensitive to police. John Watson is Sherlock's roommate, he is short and he has blonde hair. He is kind, concerned and human compared to Sherlock. He has got better relationship whit police. 2)A study in Scarlet (first book)(1887) Sherlock is as initially thought Sir Arthur Conan Doyle: tall, thin, cold, ironic, wiity and intellectually restless...Dr Watson is a good shooter and one of the bests doctors in the city. 3)Sherlock holmes, A game of shadows In this film Sherlock is elegant as usual, intelligent, analytical and also very deductive. Dr Watson, in contrast is very brave and intuitive. Nowadays, as you can se in the following video, Sherlock Holmes' films have got more action than ever. 4)Elementary(the newest serie) Sherlock is not very tall. He has got brown hair and he's thin, he's also very cold, he is thinking about the crime day and night. His intelligence is special. He's able to imagine what's happened in a very short time. Watson appears as a woman who takes care of Sherlock in every investigation. This series has got relations whith the police.
